Immunisations from doctor

When going to the doctor for the vaccines you need for the visa. Do you basically just tell them you're moving to america and need them for the visa?

Can they refuse you and is there a charge for them if its at your local doctors?

I told mine they were for immigration. They didn't charge me but I am sure they have a right to do so. I would imagine they can also refuse you but I doubt that they would - especially if they are charging you. I guess that each practice will have its own policy.

Agree. Some charge, some don't. They do not have to provide shots for immigration under NHS.

Dont make an appointment with your GP, make it with the practise nurse. They are the ones that do the vaccinations anyway so there is no point in you having to come back twice. Just tell them it is for immigration purposes and they will have their own policy on charges. The nurses usually just give the vaccinations for free though so bypass the receptionist (dont ask her questions on charges, just make an appointment with them for the nurse) and bypass the doctor.

Yeah I agree it depends on the Doctor's surgery, different ones have different policies though they shouldn't outright refuse, they just might charge you at the most. Mine were not very helpful initially & kept telling me I didn't need all those vaccinations for the US no matter my explanation, till I practically went in there with the USCIS sheet, they ended up charging me £38 for all three! still cheaper than the £70 or so at Knightsbridge Doctors...
