It's more mental than anything, without a proper education and situational awareness, they would have been disorganized at best and not really effective.

Besides, I vaguely recall being told by a professor in a class on early american economic history that the average height and weight of black people in the US went up dramatically after the abolition of slavery and then shot up again .... at some other watershed point in history which I at the moment can not recall. It was basically a lesson on how economics affected physical growth and health.

I don't know. The animals are a lot bigger and more dangerous in Africa, than in Europe. Some hairless white ape with a whip has nothing on a hungry pride of lions. How did native Africans survive, if they had no situational awareness, or organizational skills?

You have to look at the whole picture. You're talking about a large group of displaced human beings coming over from a country polar opposite to where they ended up. Even if they had access to guns, what then? The laws were written against blacks, we weren't even classified as full human, only 3/4th. I surmise freedom, but after that, it would have been like a blind man in a dark room trying to find a black cat that ins't there.

It's a tad bit easier when you live somewhere that doens't make it a point to discriminate against you. In Africa, they only had to worry about living and animals. A walk in the park I think compared to a country hell bent on trying to keep you down.

they were brought here for free disposable labor. why would a rational hypothesis be that we brought free disposable labor here, only to give them guns to defend themselves? #######.

any woman slave that reproduced, gave birth to a slave. maybe if we had practiced manadatory slave abortion, slavery would have ended early on.

maybe if we had encouraged slaves to educate themselves and gave them means to experiment, instead of making their literacy illegal, slaves could have found a cure for dysentery or small pox. jeez.

and there were small groups of slaves that did revolt and went to live with indians..that didn't keep us from from bringing over more slaves.

If a black man invented the internet (or anything else) it's only because they were allowed to get an education. Education was invented by white men in Stockholm in 1546!

I'm very glad that the nice white men allowed black men (and shockingly even women of all colors) to vote or we would have had President Romney's inauguration ceremony yesterday and how terrifying would that have been?

No it certainly wasn't all black people but if non whites (and women) didn't have a vote it would have been a very different result. But luckily this country is very diverse and everyone can vote. Well except me and Evylin.
