Original Signatures are required for the "Letter of Intent," however, the G-325A for beneficiary only requires the statement "will sign at consulate" in the signature box.

I did this at the advice of very experienced member "pushbrk" for my fiance and our petition was approved with no problems. But since you still need the original signature for the letter of intent, it probably will be best to handle the signature for the G-325A at the same time.

All the best on your journey.

Thanks for all your help you guys. I am having him send me everything all at once.. so going over the checklist about a million times today to make sure we only have to do this mail business once. Also trying to figure out how to get it expressed.. he said it isn't possible from Ukraine, but I know I saw UPS trucks there the last time I was there... I'll let ya know how it goes :)

The form asks for original signatures... but how do I get an original signature from my fiance when he is 1/2 way around the world??? Do original signatures sent electronically after being scanned still count as original?

On one of my visits before filing the petition, Alla signed several balnk forms and I later filled them out while talking on the phone (do not waste visit time filling out forms) She can print and download a few, sign them and send them to you.

That said, I attach the following internal memo from USCIS. If you decide to go this route, I suggest you attach a letter explanaing that "as per the memo of (date) I request she be allowed to sign the G-325a at the interview" since not all adjudicators have read the memo.

That said...you NEED her signature on the letters of intent so why not get her original signature on both? Personally I would not risk an RFE delay by relying on them to follow their memo.

Interoffice Memorandum

To: SERVICE CENTER DIRECTORS

From: Michael Aytes /S/

Acting Associate Director for Operations

United States Citizenship and Immigration Services

Department of Homeland Security

Date: November 1, 2005

Re: Guidance for Processing Pending Form I-129F Petition for Alien Fiancé(e) when

G-325A for Petitioner and/or Beneficiary is not Signed and/or Photos not Submitted.

Purpose

To provide field offices with guidance on processing Form I-129F petitions when the accompanying G-325A is missing signatures and/or photographs.

A properly executed Form G-325A is required for all I-129F petitions. Previously it was standard practice to issue an RFE when the beneficiary failed to sign the G-325A and/or failed to submit photographs. From the date of this memorandum, an RFE should not be issued in instances where the beneficiary failed to sign the G-325A and/or failed to include photographs provided that the beneficiary is residing abroad. The beneficiary will be required to sign the Form G-325A and/or submit photographs at the time of visa issuance abroad. It is also not necessary to RFE for the petitioner’s signature on the G-325A, if the petitioner failed to sign it. The signature of the petitioner on the Form I-129F should be deemed sufficient for purposes of adjudicating the petition. Finally, it is important to note that the petitioner’s photograph is still required for the adjudication of the I-129F, so if it is missing, it must be requested prior to adjudication.

Questions regarding this memorandum may be directed through appropriate channels to Mica Pilz of Service Center Operations.

Another way to do it, and Pushbrk is defitely a knowledgeable guy. If it is NOT signed, you MUST indicate somewhere she will sign it at the interview and hope the adjudicator has read the memo.

As a more general answer to your question, this process is long, more than 4 years before your fiance becomes a citizen and there may be reasons to send original documents, signatures etc., back and forth during the process, for both the immigration process and life in general (oh YES, there is life after immigration!)

Never forget that Fedex and UPS go everywhere...quickly and the postal services of both countries go everywhere also...not so quickly.

Hi Crakzor,

I sent my fiance a scanned copy of that form and the petition was approved. But I am not sure if that will affect as well in the visa approval because I haven't scheduled yet.Since you already did.Just hope and pray that it will be approved. I have a feeling that it really depends on the one looking at your papers.

Keep praying,

Regards,

MC

We did the same. I did not discover Visa Journey until I was almost ready to send the petition. I spent months agonizing over this. I had the original signed docs ready (I flew up to Canada (for a visit) and got them after I discovered they were supposed to be original) to go if the RFE ever came but it didn't. We were approved with no RFE for the petition or the Visa. We got lucky and maybe you will to. Just be ready in case the RFE comes.

I'm sure it depends on who is reviewing the package. Good luck!

I thought citizen process was 2 years... Being from UA, did you have difficulty sending through Fedex or UPS... quickly? He is in Shostka... What was your time frame on that part... Seriously I get so stressed trying to do all of this, and plan a wedding.. i mean how is anyone supposed to plan a wedding not knowing how long the process can take for the other person to get here?

make sure it's signed in blue ink.and mailed to you.and have finance write the letter of intent signed and dated in blue ink, original signatures.passport photos also.

I was reading this post and had this EXACT question of whether to have all original signatures in Black or Blue ink pen. I thought Blue just in case it gets confused with a photo copy. Thanks
