Hi VJ members,

I received the extension letter from USCIS, later on I went to my biometric appointment on 12/17/2012 (Detroit,MI Service Center).. after that I haven't heard anything from USCIS. I went to the webpage and entered my case number and everything looks the same;My case is still showing "Initial review".

How long does it take before receiving the new green card? I know I have the extension letter they sent me but I would really love to have my new card and forget about the immigration world for a while.

Is it safe to travel after abroad using the extension letter? (Assuming I haven't received my new green card)

Thanks!

At CSC? It's taking about 7 months. You're in for a long wait. Join a monthly filers thread. :)
