My family friends petitioned for their married son in 2002, March. They still did not bring him here and their case is in California. Is there anything that can be done? This is a very long time... when they petitioned their son and daughter-in-law had 1 child but now he has 3, one that was born in 2003, and one in 2006.

unfortunately, he falls on the family preference immigrant visa which has a limited count allotted.. and on the same note, he fall on the f3 which is also has a limited count.. the way it works is that any # left over from f1 is added to f2 which is then gobbled up and whatever is left adds to f3 then f4.. i believe they are only about 23,000 per year or f3.. here's the visa bulletin for next month..

Current VB is now 7/8/2002 so the petition of March 2002 should have been current long time ago. Didn't he receive any communication (snail mail or email) from NVC regarding his petition ?

yes if his priority date is march 2002 then they are current. when you say their case has been in california, does that mean they have not been approved? cos that would be very weird. . after approval which shd have happened MANY YEARS AGO, the case shd have been sent to NVC where it sits until the date becomes current( which it is now) then NVc contacts the petitioner on how to proceed. you cld NVC to make inquries 603-334-0700. make sure you have the beneficiriies full name and date of birth and the USCIS receipt #.
