Ohhh! I LOVE kitties!! Here is my George when he was a kitten on his first day home. He has a twin brother named Fred and a sister named Lily.

I have a question that maybe someone on this thread could shed some light on. My fiance and I love cats. I grew up with multiple cats, he has (well, now his mom has) a Bengal Cat back in London. We really want to adopt a cat this fall (perhaps a Bengal rescue), but we have a problem. My fiance recently developed a pretty strong cat allergy. Completely out of the blue. Typical allergy pills have not helped him at all. I have heard about shots and stuff, but was wondering if anyone could offer advice on what to do. Adopting a cat is very important to both of us!

it has been about 9 years since I have had a cat. I had to leave my 2 fur babies in Canada when I moved here sad.png

They are sweethearts.

That must have been so hard :( I can't imagine. Can you adopt a new kitty?

it is hard when you are renting because you have to pay the pet deposit which is usually $200 to $300 and some places charge monthly pet rent on top of that. But hopefully by the end of next year we will have our own house and then I will get a cat.. :)

If it were also up to me, I'd adopt a third one, a baby kitty but we're already paying $50 per cat for rent per month and $500 each for deposit. crying.gif

Not for you this time. tongue.png I don't think it's wise to get a new cat in the middle of pregnancy or when the baby is very young and the risk of toxoplasmosis is high. Although doctors say that humans mostly get toxoplasmosis from handling rare meats and gardening without wearing gloves, they still advise not having a new cat during pregnancy.

My place here did that. A pet deposit of $300 plus $100 per month extra.

Luckily the place hubby just leased has only the pet deposit. I’m just glad bringing her wasn’t an issue!

Yikes, all these pet fees .. I had no idea they were that expensive.

We own our home, so that's not stopping us from having a third ... I'm just not sure I could handle it! The animals in our house already outnumber us, lol. Plus Luna and Molly get along so well, I'd hate to bring a third into it and have their relationship disrupted somehow.

My daughter kept doing that. Every time she had two that got along she would get a third and there would be hissing and fighting. She still has three, and keeps them separated.

Interview was easy. My hubby's Oath Ceremony is scheduled for February 25th. I can't watch >sad< but happy he is getting his certificate!
