Me and my husband have 2 kitties. One day we were at Petsmart and we saw the kitties up for adoption. We pet them a little bit and then felt the urge to be "parents". They're brother and sister and they were found by a dumpster without a mommy! We didn't feel like choosing only one leaving the other alone so we brought them both at home! They were less than 3 months old when we adopted them.

Zack (on top) is the fatty one, he's your best friend if you have food or you're eating or you're in the kitchen. We realized he was going to be pretty heavy when after a couple of weeks we've had them, Zack walked into the room and made the floor squeak.

Zena (on the bottom) is the little princess, she looks like she walks on her tip toes and talks A LOT (sometimes too much)!

They're adorable! When they were kittens they had a very light color, now they got a lot darker. They're siamese mix and the only way you can tell Zack has Siamese blood, is looking at his tail. The end of the tail is crooked. At first we thought he got hurt and the tail was bent for some injury he had when he was tiny. We then discovered that it is a recessive gene in Siamese breed that gives them the crooked tail (some call it knot). Because of the intense controlled breeding it kinda disappeared but they say it is good luck when a cat with a crooked tail is born.

They're funny and keep my husband company since I am away.

As soon as I'll be back to the States, we're gonna be foster parents for more unlucky kitties. We also plan on adopting a cat with special needs as soon as we can move to a better place.

I hope I posted the picture right, in case I didn't, here is the link

I've really enjoyed reading everyone's stories and viewing photos of the kitties.

That's so caring of you. Zena seems to be a lynx point Siamese. Who is more active between her and Zack?

They're both quite active and run up and down the apartment like crazy but probably Zena is last one to get tired. They're only 1.5years old so they have a lot of energy. When they play they sound like horses running up and down, I feel so sorry for the downstairs neighbors! The other night they were playing so rough that they made the cat tree fall. It's a 5.5 feet tree and it's pretty heavy. Probably downstairs sounded like someone falling.

I've always lover cats, my grandma used to save strays and take them to her place. Sometimes she could bring them all to our apartment so she would make food and leave fresh water by the building. She was the crazy cat lady of the area and I think she really loved it even though she was very poor.

What does your cat tree look like? The one we got from Ikea is probably over 6' and it can be mounted on the wall.

Does your boyfriend like your cat?

Yes, he does. (And yes, I mean George, my cat.) The BF loves kitties too!

It took George a while to warm up to him, since George believes that all people who visit who are not Mummy or Mummy's Ex or The Roommate are evil. Stranger danger! Now they are besties, and George jumps on him in the morning and not just me. luv.gif

That's your cat tree? I really really like it! Too bad Ikea is nowhere near Augusta (GA). We'd have to drive to Atlanta!

Anyways the cat tree looks like in the pics and has a little house on the bottom. I'll look for more pics later.

At first we bough a little one because we couldn't afford a bigger tree but then a miracle happened! On the way to the dumpster my husband saw the big kitty tree, checked it out and it was NEW! No stains no funny smells a very little hair. He brought it upstairs and we dry cleaned it, vacuumed it, sprayed it and put it in the living room. The cats LOVE it

I know, I'm brand new and already posting like a drunken Facebooker, thanks for putting up with me lol.

We've got one cat, although my wife's roommate's cat might as well be one of ours, since we got it for her and she's always gone.

Our cat is a traditional Persian (as in she actually has a muzzle, unlike your stereotypical flat-faced Persians) named Meow Meow, we got her when she was just a little kitten. My wife is all about kitties. If it has to do with cats, she loves it automatically.

Meow Meow's a spoiled little fluffball, but we love her and she loves us. She's quite literally bright-eyed and bushytailed, and mischevious as all get up. She's broken about half of my wife's Earthly possessions so far, and she's only one and a half years old lol.

Oh, and she's weird. Here's her sleeping lol:

http://www.hauspanther.com/ has beautiful cat furniture. 2013 is the year I have my spouse get his cat allergy desensitization treatment. :innocent:

I'll hide this website from my husband. He's always buying new stuff for the cats!

Him:"Look! I got 10 fuzzy balls for them to play!"

Me:"10 balls! Let's let them play with a few and we hide the rest so they'll have toys for a while"

Him:-throws the little balls on the floor- "What did you say?"

Day after...

Him:"Look I got 10 other balls for them to play!"

Me:"You got them 10 balls just yesterday!"

Him:"Yeah but those where fuzzy and these are sparkly! And by the way I can't find the balls from yesterday"

Me:

One time he made my heart melt when he came back home and said "Look I got milk for the kitties!!"

By the way my husband is very allergic to cats but he just gets used to the cat he's living with at the moment, good luck with your treatment!
