k-1 and getting married in 2 days

just found this web site, and i wish i could know if u could give some help, i came here one week ago, and am getting married after 2morow, i wish i could marry in muslim way, but we dont have any way to do it around here, so am gettting married in court, so what i like to know, i came here on k-1 visa, now am getting married, what would be my next step? what i start taking care of ? and what things i can make to make sure am doing everything the right way, and i aint missing anything, advice needded from u all

(20 July 2009) Filed I-751 with waiver for divorce

(25 July 2009) Check Cashed

(22 July 2009) Recived NOA1

(18 Aug 2009) Biomatrics

Check the guide section on "Working, Traveling and Becoming a Permanent Resident." It will detail every step of hte process you need to take.

10/14/05 - married AbuS in the US lovehusband.gif

02/23/08 - Filed for removal of conditions.

Sometime in 2008 - Received 10 year GC. Almost done with USCIS for life inshaAllah! Huzzah!

12/07/08 - Adopted the fuzzy feline love of my life, my Squeaky baby th_catcrazy.gif

02/23/09 - Apply for citizenship

06/15/09 - Citizenship interview

07/15/09 - Citizenship ceremony. Alhamdulilah, the US now has another american muslim!

If you can find two Muslims to witness your marriage, I think it will still count as a Muslim marriage to Morocco (not sure if that's where you're from). You can also find the consulate website for your country and register your marriage with them (I know Morocco has that service available to its' citizens.)

Definately do not do that! If you do, it complicates things and adds to the forms you have to file for adjustment of status. If you're getting close to 90 days after you've entered the US, get married ASAP, and then plan a nikkah when you have time.

Definately do not do that! If you do, it complicates things and adds to the forms you have to file for adjustment of status. If you're getting close to 90 days after you've entered the US, get married ASAP, and then plan a nikkah when you have time.

I think he has only been here 1 week if I am not mistaken.

wowow me too... we waited and it slowed us down by about half a month but I think it is worth it... I'm sorry I did not mean to make things harder for him....
