Hi

My fiance and I are planning to get married in US.

A bit of a background on us: I am a Canadian citizen and she is an American green card holder from California, applying for her citizenship. If all things go well she should have her citizenship by around July/August. Our plan to is get me to come to the US through the K1 visa route sometime by around Feb/March? (depending on how long it takes).

I just had a few questions regarding the application procedure and the time in between. I read a lot of posts about being able to visit in between, but I wanted to get some clarification on some specific topics.

Our aim to reduce as much of the time apart as possible. So far this is the best plan we've got - me visiting her in the summer after she gets her citizenship and starting and working on the application together. She is planning to visit me in the summer (June/July) and I'm planning to go back with her to US to get started on the K1 application together and I intend to stay with her for about 3-4 months till about Oct/Nov. My question is: would there be any problems going about this method. Do I need to be in Canada at a certain date or time frame to correspond to any kind of request etc. on my end back home. I figured it wouldn't be too much a trouble at the airport if we go separately (and I don't mention I'm traveling with my fiance - yes I'm paranoid like that). Then I'd just come back again when my K1 visa is approved in Jan-Feb or so?

I'm open to all ideas and suggestions. Our end goal is to reduce our time apart as much as possible, and to for me to end up living with her in the US. We can't stand being apart hahah. We've been meeting every other month since October.

I really appreciate all help and input :)

For love!

for a k-1 -

it's best to be in Canada for the medical exam

and

you absolutely must be in Canada for the visa interview.

Other than that? Cross the border as you can, when you can, where you can,

as

All sounds good.....except......citizenship July/August...check...

entry into the US.....when you are granted the visa and you receive it....maybe Feb.....maybe later. That will happen when it will happen; don't beat yourself up before you even begin trying to predict that date. It will be when it will be.
