Tetanus shot required before medical in Vancouver?

The consulate guide on this site says that a tetanus shot administered less than 10 years ago is required for the medical. Can anyone confirm this? I know it's required to adjust status but had never heard before that it was required for the medical.

Also, the notes for Montreal indicate a Hep B vaccination is required, which would take several months to have all shots administered. Anyone have experience with that in Vancouver.

Hi,

I'm responding to your request regarding vaccinations, however I'm at work, so I don't have the actual paperwork in front of me. You can see by my timeline however, that I too am going through the Vancouver Consulate.

I will say, that each Consulate is different. In my package 3 from Vancouver, it stated I HAD to have my vaccinations for the medical, which I would bring to the interview. Did you get a package 3 from Vancouver? In it, there was an enclosure which had a list of vaccinations, and what was required by virtue of your age. Hepatitis in my case (I'm 48) was not required. I did however, have to have a tetnus shot. You could do a search here to see if there is a list of vaccinations, and the age requirements here on VJ.

If you reside in Canada, you're probably covered for your vaccinations anyway, so doing them here, before moving to the US, would be a good financial move!

A K-1 visa being an non-immigrant visa does not require you have any of the immunizations until AOS.

Though as suggested, you may wish to have them courtesy of the provincal government before you leave for the US.
