Hello,

My wife had her interview on January 13th in Dhaka Bangladesh. After 3 CO's interviewed her she was given the blue paper and her birth certificate. They have kept everything from her passport to our marriage certificate/tax documents/etc.

Does anyone know what the time frame is for AP in Dhaka Bangladesh? I have been waiting patiently for the USCIS, then NVC, and now the CO's in Dhaka to finish processing AP.

Does anyone know what they are exactly looking for? What information they need? My wife was not requested any further documents, they got her number and said they will contact her.

Dear PatientlyWaiting, all I can say is you have to be more patient now. There is no specific timeline for AP and depending on what kind of check is going to happen this may take 2 weeks to few months or even years (in extreme or rare cases). Good thing it is for your wife as it is bit more strict when it comes to men (again, usually). You will never know why she was put on AP and what will checked/verified for her. The only thing you can do at this moment is prey that she gets over this soon. Be very supportive to her as she is lot more concerned and probably worried of the situation. If your documents and facts are straight and strong it will take less time. Just support her as much as you can crossing your fingers. If you don't hear back from embassy in few months, you can start thinking about reaching out to your Senators/congressman who would try to help you out with directing your questions to DOS or embassy; however that may not (again may not) yield results.

Just sit tight, think positive, support each other hoping for the best. Who knows may be it will be over soon!!!!!

There is no timeline for AP. Unfortunately you just have to wait until they finish their work. My husband was in AP for 10 weeks, but every case is different. Good luck!!

Thanks mimolicious - You were one of the lucky ones I would say.

I am really sorry and inshallah they will be here soon. I can't even imagine what you are going through with not only your wife but daughter too! My only question is does the USCIS and NVC not do a extensive check that now the CO has to do another one?

My husband is also in AP. We've done the best we can thus far and we're not going to put our lives on hold for this. We'll continue doing our own thing and the visa will happen when it happens and we'll adjust our lifestyles then. Right now it's out of our realm of control.
