Hi, folks. Houston is pretty busy but I have not seen any of our forum members whose local office is Houston say they have approvals. Has anyone received an I-130 approval (standalone) from that office? Does anyone have any idea what's going on there?

I'm a dual US/Hungarian citizen (both by birth; Hungarian citizenship verification TBA), and my husband is a dual British/Irish citizen (by treaty) from Northern Ireland. We are atheists.

All advice is given pursuant to the Disclaimer that you may read at the bottom of each forum page.

LATEST STEPS:

28 Jun 2013: POE Houston

08 Jul 2013: SSN received (at SSA office)

07 Aug 2013: Green Card received

27 Feb 2014: Whoa, life happened. Planning move "back home" together to Republic of Ireland by end of April.

29 Apr 2014: POE Dublin through Heathrow

15 May 2014: Received formal residency/work permission (GNIB card with Stamp 4, one year renewable) for the ROI

Hi, Aidan. The Houston field office is a USCIS office, not an NVC office. What number do you have for them?

ALSO: PLEASE GO FILL OUT YOUR TIMELINE. I don't see any information that shows when your I-130 was transferred to Houston or even when you filed it in the first place.

LOl yeah Im trying to fight out the time line - the Number I have is 603-334-0700 its the Same as it on the web page

Oh, you are calling the NVC after all, OK. I didn't know they had a Houston office. That is not a Houston phone number in any case. :(

My original post was about the Houston field office for approving my pending standalone I-130. I'd still like to hear from any forum members who had an I-130 processed through Houston.

Sorry, that's not the local Houston USCIS office number.

Please recheck the address you sent yer NVC checklist letter response documents TO - let us know the city and state? Thanks so much !

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

They did the same thing to me. Houston seems to collect all the cases for the month and then send them in a big box. I would still be calling the NVC to see when it is entered into the system (this will be 2 to 3 weeks after they receive it in the mailroom).

I'd like to bump this to see if anyone has more recent info on NBC-transferred-to-Houston I-130 approval times - I'm trying to gauge how fast Houston is turning these things out, since there's no good way to track specific field office processing times here or at USCIS.

I searched through timelines of those users most recently active here who are going for IR-1/CR-1 through NBC->Houston with NOA1 in 2013, and only found 2 - http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/profile.php?id=151568 and http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/profile.php?id=154418 (Nimz). Approval times of 35 and 56 days.

Also, egov has Houston's number of monthly completions trending way up in the past few months http://dashboard.uscis.gov/index.cfm?formtype=4&office=62&charttype=1

Has anyone else other than speedwell and Nimz (and the other I linked above) received a recent I-130 approval who lives in the Houston office's area?

Thanks!

Thanks for the update - yes, my I-130 is stand alone. Have you tried calling the USCIS line to get an update? I've read here that 6 weeks is the point to see if your case has been transferred to the local office.
