I-130

My husband and I got married in South Africa, he is here working for an embassy but will finish in April. The I-130 was received on January 14 and is in its initial processing at the moment...if we do not hear back before April we will have to both go to his home country in Jordan. This is surely going to complicate the process and I am afraid of any more delay, does anyone know what my best option is?

You can change your address on the uscis website once you've set up an account, change it to an address in the states, your parents or someone you can trust who will take care of your mail. On the I-130 did you put your address in South Africa? If so, you'll have to make sure that when you get to NVC they send all the paperwork to the consulate in Amman instead of South Africa, otherwise he'll have to have the South African embassy fwd his papers to Jordan or he'll have to go to South Africa for the interview!

The residential address on the form is my address in the states, where it says "address abroad" i put my south african address. The petition was already sent back due to a missing signature and it was sent to my address in the states, where my mother lives as well. So I guess I should just leave it as is. The interview is where I have my doubts, I guess I will wait until april and hopefully would have heard something by then. How long did yours take, I see you also sent it from abroad. Yea I'm also living abroad with my husband, but I will be moving back in August whether or not we're done with this process so that my son can start first grade. I only just filed in Dec, a month ago. I'm hoping that I'll get NOA2 by late March/early April but with this process, you never know!

Yea, hopefully! But from what I've been hearing/seeing about AP for middle eastern men, I'm not going to hold my breath! We're going to go to Northern Virginia first where my family lives and we'll see what happens from there.

2. when you get notice of the I-130 approval, put a mark on the calendar.

3. study your calendar, go forward 22 days.

4. on the 23rd day, call into NVC, using a telephone, inquire for AOS FEE BILL to be sent via email .

then on the DS-230, put his current address in Jordan.
