Hi everyone,

I am going to gey my DL and my spouse as well and we want to be added to my parents insurance. The received a letter in the mail stating that after 8 years of being with State Farm, they no longer want to be their insurance provider due to 3 accidents in 5 years that weren't her fault but whatever. So I don't know who to go with.

Allstate,Farmers, Progressive, or Geico

Geico was the cheapest I found but they only have 3 locations in houston and they are all far from home

Progressive is charging us $230 monthly just for one car. Idk who to go with since we really liked State Farm

we reside in Houston, Texas so if anyone knows let me know

thanks,

Wow, $230 is alot. All of our vehicles are paid for so I don't carry full coverage. We only carry liability and comprehensive. Liability is all that's required by law in Illinois but comprehensive pays for deer strikes so I keep it. We only pay around $140/month for all three vehicles with Kemper Preferred but I've been with them for a long time.

I don't really see a need to have a local office near by. I've probably only been to my local agent's office twice in 25 years and it wasn't necessary those times.

We had a really bad experience with Geico that left us stranded in Florida with one year old twins (we are from Arkansas), so I don't recommend them, but I am sure there are good and bad stories for every insurance.

we are with progressive. We pay about $64 a month for one car, full coverage and low deductibles. We have had a few claims with them and they have always handled them quickly..

one post removed for profanity, post returned below minus the profanity.

I'm with GEICO now since last 7 months. Before that I was with Farmers for almost a decade. Those farmers charged me $375 every six months for only liability coverage. That despite not having a single accident in my life or any traffic violation tickets. GEICO only charges me $190 every six months. But i don't want to recommend GEICO. What I want to recommend is that you do insurance shopping. Virtually all big-name insurance companies provide free quote. Make sure you get quotes from at least 6 different companies before buying your insurance. Best of luck.

i had country companies for three years and was paying 202 a month with a two door

got a newer four door thinking it would drop and they said 215 per month!

decided to call allstate when i was 19 and started paying 105 a month

rates rose every year till i was almost at 140

called geico and they gave me 65 a month!

im still w geico six years later and i pay 75 per month now- different car.

i have full coverage w a 250 dollar deductible

i have no real experience though with them helping me aside from roadside

theyve always sent a tow quickly

ive actually been considering looking around because i have a spotless record but i get nothing from it

i want some accident forgiveness or rebate checks or disappearing deductibles.
