So... as so many other people have agonized about, the NOA2 has not arrived within the 5 month time frame California is bragging about. Should I call them on Tuesday to find out what is going on and what the real time line is since the one on here is inaccurate due to not everyone updating? I'm not frustrated, but clear and accurate data would be great.

Thanks for your help in advance!

Hi

I am also waiting for my NOA2 from CA I have hired a lawyer for personal reasons he says that CA centre is currently averaging 5.2 month. But remember this is just an estimate and it may take a few days to post out the info to you. Good luck with your application, let us know if they have any new info from them.

Thanks! I will try to be patient, but will give the call a shot to hear from someone at the office. It may be futile, but I have to do something!

The "one on here" is not accurate because there is no such thing. Even if everyone updated it would be nothing more than an indicator of what is happening since the people updating are nothing more than a tiny, tiny irrelevent sample of the total. Clear and accurate data is not available.

Of course you can call. Do not expect to find out when you will be approved. There is no requirement to process petitions within any particular time frame.

Thanks ever so much for your help. I'm not looking for my exact date, just where they are in the process as of now since the TOOL that is on this site is not so helpful and I'm already aware that it is a sample. Even as a sample, it has a huge range of dates and calling may help at least get a better timeline. I'm aware that the US government has their own schedule, I use to be married to a military man.

Anywho, one out of two encouraging answers is better than none.

I'm considering calling the cali office too. Me and my Fiance have been waiting now for 5 months and almost 2 weeks and although you can submit a service request on the USCIS website, I've read it's not advisable as calling will mean things are dealt with faster. I'm currently 19 weeks pregnant so getting very nervous about waiting around :(

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

I'm currently at 188 days now, or 6 months and 4 days today. I hired a really good Lawyer myself from the get-go who put in a service request just before Christmas and I did the same thing personally on January 9th without hearing anything back from the USCIS as yet. I appears as though, we just all need to wait on something from their offices as they have all been backed up significantly at this point. VSC is catching up quickly with the CSC due to the CSC's current very slow pace adjudicating petitions. I know it's very nerve-wrecking and we all share the same anxiety and stress levels, but I'm sure there are loads of other Petitioners that have issues service requests that aren;t on Visa Journey who had their Lawyers intervine and etc and thus far I haven't seen anyone with any positive feedback from doing so, including me.

Rgds,

Sahs
