Hello everyone,

I applied for K-1 visa for my fiancee. She is in India. Her visa interview was in November 2012. The officer gave her 221 (g) slip and asked her to submit additional documents along with her passport. She submitted the documents with-in a week. Now it has been more than 60 days since submission and we haven't heard anything from Mumbai Consulate. When we call the VFS center, they are no help. All they say is our case is under processing and once the consulate makes any decision, they will contact my fiance. The wait has been so painful.

I am planning to go to India next month. Should I go to the Mumbai Consulate and ask for the status? I have US Citizenship. I am also thinking to get married in India this time but I guess that will make my K-1 visa petition invalid. I am so confused and stressed. Our goal is to be together as soon as possible. Our engagement was almost 1 year ago and it has been 10 months since we started this K-1 visa process. Please advice.

Thank you!
