July Filer Service Request

Hello everyone,

I'm a july filer, currently serving Active duty in the US Navy. last night i decided to call USCIS since the 19th of this month will be my 6 month mark. well i spoke to a lady(tier1) who i explained my situation (i'm currently on my window for new orders and is sea duty which puts me on the edge to be heading out to a command overseas ex, Japan, Guam, Bahrain etc, im concerned cus i will be getting my orders between feb && mar and i don't know where i will be sent mind september. is scary enought for me to think that my husband will arrive to the states and i will be deploying for the nxt 2 yrs). this lady told me she doesnt know anything about my case just that it was received the 19th of july and that they are currently processing may 28th applications. well i told her to transfer me to a her supervisor if there was one available, then i explained one more time the situation and she says that my case is still pending and that i should hear something within a month and a half, i was shocked when she said that since that'll put july filers at a waiting time of almost 8 month. i said if i could do a request to see if my case can be pulled and evaluated since i'm almost @ 6 months and clearly if my case doesnt gets approved until march plus the maybe 2 months at nvc and the wait for the interview it will mean i'll b less than 3 months together with husband before i head out to see. thankfully she put in a service request but said that she's not sure if the file will be pulled and adjusticated but that i will receive a letter from them after 5 days with an answer. depending on there answer if is approved great if not then for me it means heading out to my local congressman office to see if anything can be done. is bad enough that i have to serve this country be on call 24 hours a day 7 days a week and not be put up front of all these ilegal petitions being approved; then wait more than 6 months to get approved and be with my husband for few months to then be deployed for 2 yrs.

some People dont know the sacrifice an active duty military member have to go through to be able to mantain a stable relationship, knowing deployements come up and work ups and detachment which is all time away from ur loved one. and worst knowing you can't fly out frequently due to all the paperwork that has to get done before leaving the US wich is done 90 days prior to departure and it might not even be allowed. :(

to all of the july filers and those who have been waiting for 6+ months i can feel and know what all of you are going through, it sucks and is unfair to see people who filed after aug15 getting approved so quickly. i don't know what most of u guys are doing to get distracted from thinking so much about the approval but what keeps my mind busy to not think about it so much is work, work, and more work + constantly talking to my husband.

sorry i wrote too much but it is my first time posting something for more then 4 months. May i say venting a lil bit :(

May you all have a Great weekend.

I am a few weeks behind you, and I feel your pain. I can understand the frustration with all the uncertainty in the months ahead. I hope you hear something soon, and this service requests is done. When my finance and I first met, he told me how he tried in-listing years back, but was not accepted due to a major wound to his leg. Even bearing the thought made my heart sink. I know words don't always mean much, but there are so many people so grateful for those like yourself who sacrifice more than we can imagine. I hope you hear something soon, be safe on your future deployments and bless your relationship!

Thanks for your words, you dont know what u saved urself from with ur fiance not enlisting. My husband is not supportive but no matter what i know i try something that few people will ever get into, and im proud to have achief one of the things i always wanted to do; now that i am married and plan to have a family staying in the forces will put me in a situation where i'll have to be away from my family and i dont want that i will finish my contract ending may 2015 n focus on family first.

I also hope this request turns out to be something good and i have my approval cus i seriously dont know for how long will i b with my husband before i get deployed :(
