to answer your question i have read someone she was a wife of a US citizen she is from Pakistan, what she mentioned her post that when she had interview she told the CO she did her Nikkah and Valima is suppose to held in USA, she got 221G

CO asked her to do Valima and submit more evidence so before you get in to Lengthy AP accumulate more documents to Avoid giving CO a chance to put you in Administrator Processing, which is somehow Mandatory for most of Males in Pakistan. to better be well equipped even if you haven't done your Valima fly to Pak arrange a small valima show picture then subsequently accordingly you may plan your reception in US,

Well I only say one thing in reply that it totally depends on case to case & CO at the interview window

I saw many ..& many means seriously a lot who have not been asked this Rukhsati & Valima question at all

but to be honest now you have no choice other than to complete all rituals here in Pak

Make him agree on it.. Make him spare some time for you.. without the rituals you are standing no where unfortunately :(

Embassies know all of the the religious and cultural necessities for a couple to be married in any given country.

It's not the embassy's fault you were time-limited to complete everything.

Things need to be in order to get visa, you need to have rukhsati in proper way no just for visa. Remember reading someone post from a girl she had problem as someone said in above reply. Doesn't matter how many days you live together after rukhsati, ou can tell reason to co if you ever asked question about short time. Also remember truth is best always.

Rings exchanged..Cake cutting..holding hands taking you out..

well seems natural but yet you can not be sure of what going on in CO's mind

He's accompanying you at interview...well huge bonus i would say..

Wish you all the best

I would absolutely recommend to do a little ruksati over there before showing up on the interview date. I heard someone was put on hold for exactly the same reason. Also my friend told me that it's actually a "requirement" in I-130 to consummate the marriage. I'm in the same boat as you and I'm planning to get this taken care of before my spouse goes for the interview.

For males from Pakistan being the applicant of IR1-CR1 visas, they will ask for Rukhsati and most probably Valima. But for female applicants only Rukhsati is important and since you have done your Baraat has taken place you should be fine. However if the CO specifically asks you if you have completed the rukhsati and you tell him yes and when in reality you haven't; then it would be lying and could be a problem.

the embassy doesn't care about that your husband is a lawyer and didn't have time. They know about what is customary and needed for marriage in Pakistan, not their problem if you didn;t do things the way it was supposed to be done. Lying will only cause problems
