Our I-130 was approved a few days ago,I do not plan to move to the US until August 2013 at the earliest.How long is the police certificate valid for? If I do the police certificate now to submit to the NVC will it still be valid when am ready to travel? Thanks

Please fill in your timeline and country.

There's no need to stall any of this process.

You can submit to NVC, you will get case closed and interview, then you have 6 months to cross from your medical date.

As long as your medical is after 2/XX/2013 (which it should be) then you have until august to cross.

How would we know since we don't know your country. Go to your countries embassy website and find out how long its valid for. As far as travel most embassies want it valid for interview many of us like Nigeria have to get a new one for interview since we only have 3 months.

At NVC you can take as long as you want to submit your documents. Long as you have made contact with them within a year it keeps your case active.
