Wednesday!

Good morning!

Well Doesn't look like anyone started a Wednesday thread yet, so I thought I would go ahead and start one. You all must be tired from staying up watching the election outcome. I'm feeling better today. The good news is that I don't have to go to my second job tonight. The bad news, it's raining and the streets are a mess. Hope you all have a good day!

Hey Janine,

I wanted to ask you if you've ever been to the Moroccan restaurant in Philadelphia called "Casablanca". Wadi went to it over the weekend and said it was very good, even though there was a male dancer there!

Casablanca is where we had our wedding reception! That's where all the moroccans go when they have something to celebrate. That's right by my work, and about ten minutes from my house. Did he have a good time? I've never seen a male dancer there, only two girls. THe funny thing about it being in Philadelphia, is that it's on the corner where if you go across the street you are no longer in Philadelphia. So when people say it's in Philadelphia, I never think of that one! Oh well.

He did have a great time. He was there with about 10 Moroccan guys. He said he ate very well, they just kept bringing out more food.

He went this past Saturday night. Maybe the male dancer only works on Saturdays? He said he had maracas, so I think it'd be worth your while to go check it out!

No, I don't know if he went to the club, but I bet he did. I'm looking forward to checking the place out when we got to Philly together. it sounds like a lot of fun!

Happy Wednesday to all. Despite the republican governor hanging on for another term here, things are rosey in Minnesota for DFLers (democrat-farmer-labor).

We have our first muslim congressman! Alhamdulilah. I was talking with my husband on the way home from the party last night on why this is so important. Gaining political office is a sign that (some) americans (at least those in the 5th district of MN) accept muslims as fellow americans. While I don't think there will be any wide trending wave of muslims sweeping into office, it will be chance for americans who don't know any muslims, who may not trust their muslim neighbors, to see that we're here, we're part of this country and we're stickin around.

Unfortunately, we missed the victory speech, because I got us hopelessly lost. One would think that 3rd avenue would be one long road, containing 3rd avenue south, 3rd avenue north and 3rd avenue NE. But no, they're 3 seperate roads that don't in any way connect. I knew where 3rd ave s was, and went there, when we should have gone to 3rd ave n
