It may mean that your co-sponsor did not meet poverty levels without his/her spouse's income added. If your co-sponsor only makes enough money to sponsor if they use their spouse's income as well, then the spouse needs to also file an I-864A and include all the documentation that goes along with it.

What documents did you send in the first time?

The way I understand is if you and your spouse/household member are doing the sponsoring together, then you file with the 1864 for yourself, and an 1864A for the household member, and submit tax documents to verify both incomes.

I submit I-864 AND I-864A for household member and w2's also..so why they need w-2 and I-864A of my household member spouse?? cant understand

If its someone else, does that person make enough money on their own, or only if combined with their spouse?

My Co-sponsor/house member is my sister in law..she has above poverty guidelines and enough money on their own to act as a CO sponsor to my hubby..the Consul requesting for w-2 and I-864A of her husband..which is my brother in law..

It sounds like you submitted the wrong forms.

The petitioner/sponsor, YOUR spouse submits an I-864.

If the co-sponsor lives with your spouse, they can submit an i-864A to combine their income with your husbands.

If the co-sponsor does NOT live with your spouse (which is what yuo just said) then they need to submit an I-864. (NOT I-864A).

If your co-sponsor meets the income without their spouses income then they write their income ONLY on the I-864 and include returns/transcripts.

If your co-sponsor does NOT meet the income without their spouses income then they need to write their income + their spouses income on their I-864, and have their spouse complete an I-864A.

That's what I was trying to get at. If your husband doesn't live with the co-sponsor, your husband and his sister were supposed to both fill out the I-864.

MY HUSBAND LIVE WITH HIS CO-SPONSOR WHICH IS MY SISTER N LAW..ok i will ask if the co sponsor not meet the income without her husband income thanks a lot

My spouse and my sister n law filling a jointly affidavit which is the I-864 (SPONSOR) and 1-864A (household member)...so? the reason why Co? requesting for my House hold member spouse w-2 and I-864A also because my sister n law cant support my husband to act as a co sponsor? but how ?she is above poverty guide or maybe because my sister n law Married filling jointly in tax return? with his Spouse?

Even if your sister-in-law and her spouse filed jointly on their taxes, her husband still would not need to fill out an I-864a if your sister-in-law is above the poverty line.

Something is wrong. Either the CO was wrong, or your Sister-in-law does not infact make enough money.

If it is possible/easy enough, you may as well just get her husband to sign an I-864a and hand over his supporting documents. If he wont do that, you should be calling someone to get this whole thing straightened out. Who that would be or if that is even possible, I don't know?

Yes going crazyy! jeez! but i need to do what the 221g say...i need the w-2 2011 of my Co-sponsor husband and I-864A...HOPE EVERYTHING WILL BE FINE!GODBLESS
