I'm so annoyed...i can't get anyone at the embassy to email me back. I am using

consularkingst@state.gov

is that what you all have used?

Good luck. Try sending it daily

I have never gotten a reply in the same week.

I agree...send it daily and include as much information as possible in your emails. It usually took about 7-10 days to get a response and I think if you send it over an over they get kinda sick of you and will respond. Its worth a try

I have sent about 4 e-mails and got responses to 2 of them....I usually got the response e-mial on mondays...seems to me that they come in on mondays and respond to all the e-mails...wait till sunday night and e-mail them...maybe they will get it monday morning and respond...just a thought

Good evening everyone,

Well mom and I just got back from looking at places to hold the wedding and now I am torn between 2 places, I guess I just have to start figuring out prices and what each place has to offer since I like both of them. One is a Wyndham Resort which is very nice and the ceremony and reception will be nice and elagant, and the other is a Doubletree Castle hotel that has a whimsical castle feel, it is neat and will have a unique flare to it. So I am very confused right.

Anyway hope everone had a great day!

There is a Wyndham Resort in Jamaica and it is very nice. Maybe you can get a trip there if you have your wedding there. I'm sure you'll know what is right for you so don't sweat it. Relax!

Yeah the Wyndham does offer a free honeymoon if you have your wedding there but you have to spend at least $12,000 in food and beverages, I dont think we will even come close to that

Both hotels have thier pros and cons, but it will probally come down to who ever offers is the best price!!

Good morning, all!

Glad you had a good birthday, Squitto!

Well, I think my poor hubby went from having two jobs to none. Sigh...back to the drawing board...not only that, I turned down an interview day before cuz I told them I thot he had a position already. The lady hasnt called us back, but I worded things badly when I called an left message, making it sound like he only wanted to work there, til he got a job elsewhere.

What a dunderhead. I realized what I did soon as I hung up. Well, like you guys said, not meant to be...

Sure is quiet in here with Rhonda on 2nd shift. :(

(F) To all the SOs who are learning to drive and doing theri schooling -good luck.

Please wish me luck, on April fist I will be sending out my I130, my husband just left after 2 weeks of vacating and already I cant live without him. So I am gonna send off the package on Saturday in hopes they get it on Tuesday( according to the website they get a limited amount of mail that day, and what ever is recieved on Tuesday morning gets stamped and opened on Tuesday evening).

Again congratulations and good luck to all.

P.s. my younger sister (21) just took a pregnancy test and it came back positive, she is in denial though, eventhough she has been hoping for this since I gave birth 3 years ago. I am gonna be a Aunt.

I do not wish to share any information about this dead end journey.........I have reached my final destination on this train, and it is time for me to get off.

THIS TOO SHALL PASS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"When a man hath taken a wife, and married her, and it come to pass that she find no favour in his eyes, because he hath found some uncleanness in her: then let him write her a bill of divorcement, and give it in her hand, and send her out of his house. And when she is departed out of his house, she may go and be another man's wife." Deuteronomy 24:1-2

simone...

we thought the same thing when we responded to that question...it's crazy.

looking back at the paper work from kingston, there is a letter that address the fiance and it also lists a k2 traveller...

so bizarre.

i don't think you ruined your chances because any of these approvals are only valid for 1 year, at least for the k1/k2 so if you at least wait one year than it should be all good.

jamie...good luck! he will feel so good when he gets the license...it's makes such a difference in their moral.

We just bought a mini van!!! 1998 Plymouth Grand Voyager...it's got high mileage but in perfect condition. The inn i work at was getting rid of it as they are down sizing how many company vehicles we have. I got it for $500! We are so excited. We have a car and a van...now we just need kids!! Just kidding...we are no where near that. It's so exciting to grow with each other....small steps are so rewarding.

Smart thinking! It takes a lot of money to go through this immigration process. Save some money and energy for that day!

Any one else have to send the AOS and EAD to different addresses?

Ours went to Chicago but I don't know how the biometrics and interview will be done. The NOAs for AOS and EAD came from Lees Summit, MO.

Thanks ChristineJames.

My husband asked me today what to bring with him to Atlanta.

What did you guys tell your SO to bring? Should he pack ALL his things (even the stuff that I'll hide somewhere deep in my garage)?

Congratulations Simone! Are you meeting him in Atlanta? That is a fun town.

I live in Atlanta. I moved to Atlanta a little over a year now. I like it but I haven't done too much exploring. I hope to get to know Atlanta better when my husband gets here.

Joanna -- That's a tough decision. If you like them both the same let them "duke" it out for the better price. Have you decided what you are doing about the cake?

Well mom and I have been talking and I suggested a to get the cake from Publix (a nice grocery store not sure if they are all over the US or not) and she said "no way are you getting a grocery store wedding cake" but yesterday at the Doublertree the lady told us that she got her cake from Publix and how good it was, so I think i have now convinced mom to get it at Publix, hey at Publix it is $159.00 the other places we were looking at were $300 :hehe: ..Publix has very good cakes, so I will have a small 3 tierd (sp?) cake and then have a Jamaican bakery make a Jamaican black fruit cake for the grooms cake.

Although, I just got a quote back from the Doublertree for 50 people and it is a little more then we want to spend, my parents have given me a budget of $8,000 for the whole thing, but it is $6,600 for just the ceremony and reception at the Doubletree that is not counting photographer, DJ, wedding dress alteration, cake, flowers and what ever else. I just told mom and she really really likes the Doubletree I told her we could look somewhere cheaper and she said they could probally go up to $10,000  ...so I have a feeling it will be at the Doubletree, since my mom really likes it and well hey she is paying for it :P

Sorry to keep going on and on about all the wedding plans, I am just so excieted to be able to plan my wedding, I have waited 31 years for this :) .. next week when we find out his interview date mom wants to put a deposit down for July 9th, but both places i am looking at say that if something happens we can change to anohter date as long as they have the space avaliable. So i am going to take a chance.

Well Andre is going for his drive test  wish us luck

Good Luck to Andre on his driving test Dont speed!!!!
