Well good afternoon all,

Congrats to Mindy and Roy and sorry bout your being sick on the wedding night. That has to suck. I encountered a glitch in mine as I had a polyscopy (sp) the day before ours, so the doc told me NO FUN for at least 2 weeks. I must say, hubby was very understanding bout it all, they offered to postpone, but I HATE going in and I think I would have chickened out entirely if I had had to go back. So...some wedding night, or even honeymoon, huh! We just waited couple weeks while I got our paperwork together and THEN we went off and spent some time together. I will never live that one down tho. Lake said he always hated how the Hindu religion made the brides go back home for a week after the wedding, well he had it WORSE!

So good news guys, we got APPROVED at the interview. I really wasnt as nervous as I thought, and Lake SAID he wasnt but he sure squirmed a lot on the car ride up. I tell you tho, usually driving in Omaha makes me nervous, I was not the LEAST bit nervous...about the traffic anyway.

The lady was really very nice and even tho we had only credit cards as financial evidence, I kept handing her other stuff and that must have made the dif. She even stamped his passport, and told us she was going to approve us and we should get the green card in about 3 weeks.

Thanks to all of you, I couldnt have done it without you and I do mean that seriously, this forum provides SO much information.

Thanks all

Jill

I do not wish to share any information about this dead end journey.........I have reached my final destination on this train, and it is time for me to get off.

THIS TOO SHALL PASS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"If marriage means you fell in love, does divorce mean you climbed out?"

"You never really know a man until you have divorced him."-Zsa Zsa Gabor

"When a man hath taken a wife, and married her, and it come to pass that she find no favour in his eyes, because he hath found some uncleanness in her: then let him write her a bill of divorcement, and give it in her hand, and send her out of his house. And when she is departed out of his house, she may go and be another man's wife." Deuteronomy 24:1-2

"When you get to the end of your rope, tie a knot and hang on." - Franklin D. Roosevelt

"When one door of happiness closes, another opens; but often we look so long at the closed door that we do not see the one which has been opened for us." - Helen Keller

"Even though you may want to move forward in your life, you may have one foot on the brakes. In order to be free, we must learn how to let go. Release the hurt. Release the fear. Refuse to entertain your old pain. The energy it takes to hang onto the past is holding you back from a new life. What is it you would let go of today?" - Mary Manin Morrissey

For the K-1 interview in Jamaica can I just print my bank statements off my online banking account or do I need to go to the bank to get the statements for the affidavit of support??

Thanks, Joanna

Everything is moving so fast with me, I sent the package on 1/30 and already my fiance is picking up his packet at Kingston Embassy tommorow. What will that have in it, is there anything I should know about that. Is that the one with the interview date? I am trying to estimate around when he would have an interview date because I have to go to Jamaica for an event from April 9-19 give or take a few days. Anyone think it is possible to get an interview date before then?

WELCOME

Wow your process is moving very fast, mine is creeping along, we are also waiting on packet 3, In packet 3 there will be a check list of the things he will need to do...he needs to fill out and turn in the DS-230 form at the embassy, and then complete everything else on the check list, once the embassy recieves the DS-230 form they process it and send out packet 4 which will have the interview date...there is a good chance if he gets the DS-230 form in soon he may have an april interview.

this thread is very good and I am glad you found us....currently I am the only one going throug the K-1 process all the other members of this (Yardie) thread are married now and are beginning the AOS process but they are still here to help...ask any questions you want.

I am sorry let me correct myself if he gets the DS-230 form in ASAP then there is a chance he might get a May interview not April. But dont take my word on that, Jamaica embassy are always changing the rules on things.

Congratulations Jill & Lake!!!

Joanna -- I had my original statements with me -- they never asked me for them. I made copies of the past year, ran a register tape to show my total deposits (my bank would not put that in the letter) and attached that to the packet. I was fine. I think as long as you have your bank letter copies of the statements that you got online should be okay.

Good Afternoon everyone!

Congrats to Jill and Lake  What a wonderful feeling to be approved

Well Biometrics went fine. We were there for a while and we even ended up having to wait in 2 seperate rooms (there was an applicant only room) which made for a REALLY boring 2 hour wait - not to mention annoying...something was being said over the loudspeaker every minute...and then it was said in 3 different languages, plus all the noise of 100+ people waiting and all speaking various languages. After a 2.5 hour drive I was just not in the mood, I was glad to get out of there and so was Andre. The actual process was simple...just a picture, fingerprints and a form.

Well this past Sunday was my birthday so we went out to dinner and saw a movie. It was soooo good to get out and have a nice night on the town :D I can't wait to have this immigration stuff behind us so we can feel like "real" people again.

How was your guys' weekend?

Joanna~ about the statements...I sent down just copies and that was fine. They were more interested in what the papers said than if they were original or copies.
