nyseness- thanks for your info. we did not add her onto the I129F, we just added her on the DS230. I have the letters going out to the embassy...we are going to see if they respond. If they don't, I think we will do exactly what you said...

According to some people in another forum...she is listed as a potential K2 beneficiary and according to the rules of a K2 you have up to one year from the K1 parents entry to follow. That would be June 8th of this year. Sooo if we get no good response (which we probably won't) then we shall try try again in June. Maybe try to gather some more evidence (I have no idea what) but something....

Thanks to everyone for your thoughts in this really disappointing time.

D

Ok ladies well I am going to throw this questions out there.

If all goes smoothly I am guessing Adrian will probally have a May interview date, if it is May then we have tenatively set the wedding date for July 9th...

If he gets a May interview do ya'll think I am jumping the gun to go ahead and reserve and put a deposit down on a place to have the wedding before the interview?

The only way I can see being denied at the interview would be if they could prove that our relationship is fraudulant...which there is no way they can do that we have too much proof. I have been reading soooooo much about visa denials and the only ones I have read out of Jamaica are because of drugs...and I dont have to worry about that.

Joanna

Hi Joanna,

I know you want to make your reservations as early as possible so the site isn't taken but just make sure that the deposit is refundable.

Lee

Good morning. :help: Question... What do you think about someone getting married at the same place (church, chapel, etc.) the second time around as they did the first? Is it tacky, insensitive, etc?

Lee

It depends. My sister-in-law got married in the same church the second time around because she was chrisened and baptized in that church. It's the church she has belonged to all of her life. All of her friends and most relatives belong to that church. I saw nothing wrong with it . :luv:

Thanks! That's exactly the situation I'm in. I mentioned it to my sweetie and at first he disagreed but he later told me that it would be okay if I wanted it there. I'm not sure and have time to decide but I just wanted other opinions. Thanks again! ;)

Hi VJ Family...I've been very scarce lately, but this have just been very busy for the Squitos. I'm in the final stages of the AOS (his 90 days expires on Saturday) and I hope to make the rest of the copies this afternoon to send out his package tomorrow. I tried to do as much a catching up as possible:

Hey can someone clarify. I thought we had to be married within the 90 days, we also have to file with in the 90 days for AOS ??????

WOW that is a tricky questions....as for myself I dont think I would do it...I would want it to be some where different. (just my opinion) ..but if both of you are comfortable with it then I guess it is ok.

Joanna

I agree, somewhere different

For everyone with their loved ones here, what was the biggest adjustment that they had to make? How were they able to overcome their obstacles? And what was their biggest misconception about America/Americans?

The working restriction. Having to sit around and wait to help out money wise. It helps that he's good at budgeting money, I save so much more now. Otherwise Davids asjustment is going fine.

Well I'm moving from Alabama. I've been consumed with trying to figure out where I want to live. I'm so picky though. I know that the cost of living is crazy compared to where I live in Alabama. I have heard about how bad the commute is. I'm looking into the Dulles and Fairfax areas in Virginia also a few apartments in the Camp Springs and Suitland, MD areas. I wanted a townhome but they are outrageous price wise. What is your opinion of these areas? I want to live in a safe and comfortable area without it taking me 2 hours to get to work in the Ft. Belvoir area.

Thanks alot.

Oh, where in MD do you live? (apartment, single family home, townhome?)

Try looking in the Fairfax, Springfield, Alexandria, Woodbridge in Virginia first. Maryland is far away and traffic is horrible. Camp Springs and Suitland aren't the best areas in Maryland. We live in Fort Washington Maryland not too far from Camp Springs and Suitland. We are looking to move very soon.

You can PM me if you need more info.

technically you could keep your wedding date as long as your papers were in the mail that day or the next. it's a bit close though. do you have a big wedding planned? If not, then I would move it a couple days earlier...give yourself some buffer room of a few days for the paperwork. Don't panic though...you'll figure something out. You're at the right place for ideas...

Dee~ You do not have to file for AOS within the 90 days. It is highly recommened but not required. Once the 90 days are up then Dave is technically "out of status". As long as it isn't for an extended period of time (more than a couple months) he should be just fine. An time accumulated out of status is 99% of the time forgiven because the immigrant is married to a US citizen. I have seen it before on VJ and people are just fine. Just take your time getting AOS together and file when you are ready. Just make sure its not to long after your 90 days are up. Breathe! Relax! You are fine (F)

Yea Dee I hear it's okay but if you intend to file for the AP it could cause a problem later on IF he decided to leave the country while pending the AOS. I would try to send it in ASAP.

True  If he accumulates any time "out of status" then he can not leave the country until he has the green card as the time out of status will trigger a ban if he tries to come back into the US from another country.
