 Well, we decided NOT to go out of town this weekend, I really hate to leave my Mom alone as she is 80 and we take HER car, so that would leave her all alone for 4 days with no car if there were an emergency.

I asked Lake if he was too disappointed we were not going and he replied..."NO, he is HAPPY!". Now why couldnt he just TELL me he would rather stay home this weekend and get some things done???? Silly man.:lol: And here I was thinking last nite when I approached him that he was so sweet, cuz he told me, dont worry, we'll just stay home then, no prob. I thot he was probly lookin forward to going out of town and us being on our own. HOW do I read the man????

Mawnin peeps!

One of my fav verses is in my signature.

I hope everyone has a good day. Today is one of those days I'm really missing Jamaica. I asked hubby how he deals with homesickness and he said "mi bawn an grow dere - di ongly ting mi miss is to hear ppl dem chat patwa". I guess living there with him I really got spoiled :( I hope we get an interview date soon so we can schedule a trip to go back and see family :(

Sorry for venting - ppl always say be thankful he's here; and I am; but I want to have my cake and eat it too :yes:

Strange you should mention home sickness. David asked me last night how long did it take me to get over or have that at home feeling once I moved here to Missouri from Arkansas. I think he is very home sick. I asked him what he misses the most about home. I explained that it's different. I consider this my home I have spent all my adult life here, so I don't really miss it much at all. Moving state to state is different from country to country. So I tried to tell him that it is okay to not feel "at home" He said that he misses the way he "moved around" I feel so bad for him. :( What do we do for Homesickness??????? :help:

Girl my family from Arkansas too! What part you from?

The only thing I've been told helps is for them to make yaadie friends, have some staples from home (food, HypeTV :P) go out every now and then, and of course an occassional trip. He says he's okay but I know he misses it just as much as I do if not more. Going from all your best friends from childhood living across the street from you, and family around - to being here and the only people you know are your wife and in-laws is overwhelming. He and I are both going through homesickness

Home of America's top model  ....Little Rock, Ar.

You must learn braille to read a man! Seriously!

He probably just didnt want to disappoint you by saying he did not want to go away - he wants to compromise I guess....you know do it because it would make you happy. Methinks so.

Good morning everyone,

I am so out of it today, yesterday after everything a convesation I had with Lee was the only that cheered me up.

I am slowly falling ain a state of depression and I am withdrawing form everyone, but i can't help but to come here.

Maybe one of you ladies can help me out.

1) If I was to stop teh petition know, can I go back and reenter it ata later date? Say in about a year or 2.

2) Can you tell me what would cause a denial of visa ?, I tried using the USCIS and the State site but everyting was coming out in gibberish.

thanks

If I am not mistaken, after your I-130 is approved and you complete the visa bill portion (ie you pay the immigration fee - $485 or whatever), you have two years to file the I-485 (AOS) to move the case forward to Kingston. I will look for my cover letter but I believe it said that. You may want to post this question outside this thread and have somone more knowlegdgeable answer.

As for cause of visa denials, it varies, but among the reasons listed by folks on visa journey were:

  1. USC not having enough money to be above required poverty level and needing a cosponsor
  2. Not showing enough evidence of having a real relationship
  3. Consular Officer not believing the couple despite evidence
  4. Testing positive for drugs or admitting to recent drug use
  5. Immigrant not being able to prove you are divorced or otherwise eligible to marry (we had one case recently where it was the embassy that informed the USC that dude was married already)
  6. Unable to clear criminal background check - not receiving a clean police report from every place you lived for more than six months
  7. Consular officer is simply in a bad mood (just kidding)

OMG, I am really going ot have to go without a husband.

That hard headed red skin s*&* head just screwed us over. I can't believe this. I just wish I could back to last week and change certain things. He is so immatureand stupid. How you gonna see sucha bright futre and mess things up because another person offended you, walk away, there is nothing to that. srry just venting........

:crying::bonk::bonk::bonk::bonk::bonk::bonk::crying::crying::crying::crying:

I do not wish to share any information about this dead end journey.........I have reached my final destination on this train, and it is time for me to get off.

THIS TOO SHALL PASS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"If marriage means you fell in love, does divorce mean you climbed out?"

"You never really know a man until you have divorced him."-Zsa Zsa Gabor

"When a man hath taken a wife, and married her, and it come to pass that she find no favour in his eyes, because he hath found some uncleanness in her: then let him write her a bill of divorcement, and give it in her hand, and send her out of his house. And when she is departed out of his house, she may go and be another man's wife." Deuteronomy 24:1-2

"When you get to the end of your rope, tie a knot and hang on." - Franklin D. Roosevelt

"When one door of happiness closes, another opens; but often we look so long at the closed door that we do not see the one which has been opened for us." - Helen Keller

"Even though you may want to move forward in your life, you may have one foot on the brakes. In order to be free, we must learn how to let go. Release the hurt. Release the fear. Refuse to entertain your old pain. The energy it takes to hang onto the past is holding you back from a new life. What is it you would let go of today?" - Mary Manin Morrissey

"I know God will not give me anything I can't handle. I just wish that He didn't trust me so much." - Mother Theresa

Ok, since we have so many new members here and I'm trying to get acquainted with everyone, let's do the introduction thing again. Lurkers, you're welcome to participate:

Name? SO's Name?

Your age? Your SO's age? (we'll understand if you don't want to share)

Where are you from?

What part of JA is your SO from?

What's your Connection to JA - How/Where/When did you meet?

What are you filing for? When did you file? What's your case status?

Are your pics posted on yahoo? (Mindy  )

Tell us a little about you: (You are free to answer this as you see fit)

What's your favorite things about the Yardie thread?

___________________________________________________

I'll go first:

Name? SO's Name They call me Mooma Squitto  , his name is Squito

Your age? Your SO's age? 25/27

Where are you from? Born in Hartford, CT live in Brooklyn, USA

What part of JA is your SO from? Born in Trelawny, Lived in Portmore, St. Catherine for the last 8 years before moving to the US

What's your Connection to JA - How/Where/When did you meet? My parents are Jamaican. I've spent a lot of time in Jamaica growing up. My family visited the island often. In July of 1999 I met the love of my life one night in Albertown Trelawny (L)(L) . We were at a street dance, our eyes met and from there it was a wrap!! Fast forward to March 2005 when he asked me to be his wife. I said

What are you filing for? When did you file? What's your case status? We originally filed for K-1, We're now stuck in AOS hell  . Praying for CSC transfer and approval w/o Interview  Please see timeline for more info

Are your pics posted on yahoo?

Tell us a little about you: We had a small civil ceremony on February 14, 2006 (L) We have a big wedding planned for July 15, 2006. I can't wait to walk down the aisle and meet him at the altar. It's the day we've dreamed about for a long time. :luv: Our relationship has been everything but easy, but the Lord has been right by our side every step of the way. I am a firm believer in that good things come to those who wait. The Lord uses delays to strengthen our faith. Sure I could've found a man right here in NYC. But I couldn't find one who makes me feel the way Squito does. I know I have to be patient and wait for all of the wonderful things that the Lord has in store for us.

What's your favorite things about the Yardie thread? I love the camaraderie here. Many of us have never met each other yet we have a strong support system. This is a place where I know I can speak my mind freely and find people that genuinely understand my present situation. I often come to VJ to be reminded that I'm not crazy. It's nice to know other people are experiencing the same thoughts and feelings as me. I love that here, I see both the good and bad of what can happen in relationships similar to mine. As I said earlier, Ricardo and Myisha are such an inspiration to me. I am grateful for having come into contact with each and every one of you. I feel blessed to be a part of such a wonderful group of people :D
