Good morning (F)

Joanna I woke up thinking about you this morning, don't know why.... are you feeling better????

Please don't get mad when I say this...I'm sure that you don't have a case of cold feet, but like everyone else has has said well all went through it. Can you image your life without this person in it? That was the deciding factor for me. Knowing that when I picked up the phone a smile came over my face and I had no control over it :D .I just wanted to add that he is giving up a lot to come here to be with you. This is very serious. I can image what he is going to feel like if you bring dought to the table this early on. You to have a long way to go. Also in marriages we are supposed to stand alone..... independent of all others except god of course...I know you are and your family are close...just remember it's time to let go... Your parents love you they will always be there you. You are very blessed, remember though you are their little girl and they are not going to be as easy forgiving as you are to your hubby...somethings they should not know...This is not a easy process, I take that back most things they should not know...I learned that the hard way  These are just my opinions. I hope that I did not offend you in anyway (F) DEE

Dee, you silly girl, I am always tellin ya how close we are...at least compared to everyone else. (Just kiddn ya) lol We live in Lincoln, Nebraska, but the trailer we have is like 5 hours away, north and west of here, BEFORE any major cities to pollute it. The fish out of there taste soooo good and clean.

Lake makes some coconut milk with fish and he puts spinach in it too, its about the best stuff I ever tasted. And to think, when I was a child, I didnt want ANY of my food mixed up, God is getting even with me being such a terror. I wouldnt even eat my food if one item TOUCHED another. Good grief, what a brat I was.

Yea sounded like you were indeed being a little brat.

I knew someone lived close...My bestfriend is in Lincolin Nebraska...I should bemaking a trip soon. The trailor sounds nice. I want to be off to myself some day as well.

David loved the dish.... This reminds me of home with a smile on his face :D last night so much that I'm making it again tonight....I'll throw spinish in it...I bet that will be even better....

needs to go though Kelly AKA Luvstravlin for ALL of there plane tickets and hotel bookings!!! she is great at what she does and really knows her stuff!!!! i give her 5 stars :star::star::star::star::star:

Aww, thanks Shauna, I appreciate the props

Happy Birthday Kelly!!! Do you have any plans?

Thanks Ten!!

As of right now, no plans...work my part-time job, catch up on my travel business -I've been swamped and then my son has soccer practice tonight. A friend *might* be coming over and bringing dinner. Other than that, just an ordinary day.

Kelly

Just saw my little tiny niece she just weighed 6 pounds even. So tiny and cute I held her for two hours. It was a big family party in the room. Lots of pictures of her. So percious.

Congrats on being an aunt. I'm the aunt of twin girls, they will be 5 in Sept...but I only get to see them 2x a year. One looks exactly, splitting image of my son....it's so unbelievable.

Elliott was voted off.... I liked him. Taylor is going to win.

Danielle is America's Top Model....I really liked both, but I thought Joanie was gonna take it. She'll go far. Thank God Jade was gone....did you see the way she said goodbye??? no hugs....just piece (out)???!!

Good Morning (F)

I hate to kill the mood so early in the morning but we got some bad news last night. Our beloved pastor in Jamaica died. He was the one who took Andre in and trained him up in church, his son and Andre are the best of friends. This is also the man who took me in and allowed me to stay in his home for months at a time and watched out for me. He taught me the ways of Jamaica and the ways of God. I was baptized in his church and truly came to know God through this man and his preaching. He had been sick for many years with strokes and other ailments but no one saw this coming...he had been hanging on for so long.

To make things even harder on his family (he has 11 children) one of his daughters and her husband gave birth to their first baby only hours after he was gone. So if you could all please say a prayer for their family and the community as well as Andre and myself. It is really hard to go through this 3,000 miles away and as much as we would like to go down for the funeral we don't have the funds nor does Andre have his greencard. Thanks in advance for the prayers...I know they will be powerful (L)

Good morning everyone!!! Hope you are all having a fantabulous Thursday.

I have allergies really bad, but it's all good. It's such a nice day outside.

Oh guess what Guys??? Henry got his first paycheck last night!!!! I was sooo excited! It came at the right time and we do need it. So we are giving thanks!! The best part was seeing the deduction for his pension!! It's like you are preparing for the future. We had a great talk about his idiot relatives that are working under the table and bragging about their take home being big. eeediots! I explained that they do not have benefits, they don't have a pension plan and he does. So I encouraged not to get obsessed with all the deductions an taxes, just focus on taking care of his family and building a nest egg.

On as selfish note, I am hoping he buys me some flowers for being such a good and patient wifey.

Mindy - LOST was goooood! Can you tell me what happened in the first 8 minutes...I got caught up with online banking and missed it. When I turned on the TV Michael was with a male other and Zeke was about to grab him. What did I miss???? :help: Cannot wait until next week. PS Thank God for Sayid ..."the voice of reason crying in the wilderness!"

Mindy - LOL at Roy's dream. But usually you dream about fish so when starts dreaming that you are cooking fish....look out!

Jill - listen lady, there is NO way you can marry a Guyanese or a Trini and not get used to "mix up food" LOL The trini staple pelau is a pot of rice with everything thrown in. I love it - in Guyana its called cook up - its my favorite. On a separate note, I read of a Trinidadian entreprenuer who opened a restaurant somewhere in TX and it was a hip beautiful joint and it opened with a buzz, but after a week the place was empty. They tried to determine what went wrong...so the polled the people on the street and former customers. Know what the prob was - some one said - americans do not like their food to touch...stop mixing everything togther. Serve three distinct things on a plate so we can eat them individually. Now to a west indian born and bred - that is just plain dumb. (Ask Lake about dhal and rice with codfish and spinach!! Mmmmmm)

Anyway, the restauranteur took their "dumb advice" and business boomed!!!

Good Morning (F)

To make things even harder on his family (he has 11 children) one of his daughters and her husband gave birth to their first baby only hours after he was gone. David is off to GED class I need a fish and coconut milk recipe...I'm supposed to simmer it down in the milk??? anyone know???/

Rundung is a very nice dish, fish( codfish) cook up in coconut milk and served with Ital food ( Yam, banana, dumpling..) If you need teh recipe I could give it to you ( well my version of it) I use can coconut milk but my mom uses the fresh coconut.

WE tried to mail a watch and CD's... throught UPS...I'm sure they were stolen(our things that is) they just gave up the run around, it was delivered rey, rey rey. Thank goodness we insured it, we got our money back.

Sorry to hear, I went to the post office they said they can't do anything because it is in the Jamaican custom so it is all up to them. I might end up and loose it or they will return it to me (yeah right). I told my husband and he screamed at me that I should have sent it Fedex, mi just hung up di phone (if him did dey yah mi wouldda just clot him wid sinting).

Joanna, I have to agree w/ Dee on this. Sometimes we must discern what and what not to share with people, even our parents and those that are very close to us. Some info should be given on a need to know basis...

Squitto -- how is the new job going?

Hey Mindy, I'm still adjusting, it's always a little difficult being the new kid on the block. Advertising is a different animal than the music biz. I can't complain tho, I got my first paycheck and it put a very large smile on my face  i'm taking one step at a time...Thanks for asking!! :luv:
