After that experience, I decided that I would never send anything again!!!! I heard a lot of horror stories about Jamaican customs...they either "steal" the items or price the duty fees soooooo high that people can not afford to get them out of customs. After a certain time, the package is labeled as abandoned and they take the stuff!!! Pretty Unbelievable if you ask me.........

I agree  We sent Tony's cousin a pair of Nike tennis shoes that we found on sale here. However, it cost us $18 to send them to JA and it cost his cousin $25 to pick them up :o Tony said he's not sending anything else. They'll just have to wait until we come down there and bring all the "presents" with us

Well more bad news...Adrian still has not recieved his visa...he went to the embassy this morning and they said it could be a day or two before he gets it....his flight is booked for tomorrow  ..I guess we will be calling to change his flight....oh well what else could go wrong.

I just got back from the Doctor and he gave me some medication to try and calm my nerves...I sure hope it helps...one minute I am up and the next minute I am down....I have always been such a level headed person and dont usually let things get to me...but Boy are my nerves shot!!

Sorry to hear that Joanna :( The Jamaican Embassy is SO unreliable :bonk: I hope everything works out ok.

Oh yeah...Jamaican prices :yes: Gotta love those. I made Andre call for everything...or go in before me to get a price. Even to places like shops and stores that weren't in our community. He would go with me to make sure I got the "right" price.

Yea, Jamie, its always been a dream of mine to kind of live in the middle of nowhere as well. This trailer we have is really neat, but its not on our land, and the folks are SO picky, if we dont get up there to mow and take care of it, they can evict you with 3 letters of warning, even tho you paid for the trailer. Your just outta luck, so on the one hand its a great lil spot to have to get away, on the other hand, I SURE wished we owned the land so we didnt have to worry about going up EVERY other weekend. :( But its pretty, right on the Missouri River, and you can sit in the kitchen and watch the deer and turkey out in the field, and hear the wippoorwills at night. It really relaxes my soul, I hate the city. Well, some wouldnt call Lincoln a city, but for a country girl, it sure is. We are going up tomorrow to take care of the yard, and plant some stuff, and mebbe fish a bit, if the weather cooperates.

It looks like the weather may FINALLY be straightening up, 75 and sunny here today.

Oh my goodness Jill...that sounds sooooo nice! Maybe we should have the meet up at your place

So is there any way you can buy the land under the trailer? I can see how that wouldn't be the best deal. What kind of trailer do you have? About how big is it?
