Morning :luv:

Gonna go catch up....

hello everyone,

i'm new here well i signed up long ago but i have decidded that i am ready to file for the k-1 visa can some one tell me how to start pls.

Welcome :yes: you will be happy to have joined us here in the Yardies section :thumbs: , there is just so much love here adn it doesn't hurt that these ladies here are eager tohelp others through the process to get the loved one here.

I am not going the K1 route( in fact I was suppose to be doing the K3 but even though I have only done the I130 I am undecided)

My understanding is that you need to send off the I129F for fiancee visa, someone will be along to assist you futher.

Well good luck on your journey (F).

I do not wish to share any information about this dead end journey.........I have reached my final destination on this train, and it is time for me to get off.

THIS TOO SHALL PASS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"If marriage means you fell in love, does divorce mean you climbed out?"

"You never really know a man until you have divorced him."-Zsa Zsa Gabor

"When a man hath taken a wife, and married her, and it come to pass that she find no favour in his eyes, because he hath found some uncleanness in her: then let him write her a bill of divorcement, and give it in her hand, and send her out of his house. And when she is departed out of his house, she may go and be another man's wife." Deuteronomy 24:1-2

"When you get to the end of your rope, tie a knot and hang on." - Franklin D. Roosevelt

"When one door of happiness closes, another opens; but often we look so long at the closed door that we do not see the one which has been opened for us." - Helen Keller

"Even though you may want to move forward in your life, you may have one foot on the brakes. In order to be free, we must learn how to let go. Release the hurt. Release the fear. Refuse to entertain your old pain. The energy it takes to hang onto the past is holding you back from a new life. What is it you would let go of today?" - Mary Manin Morrissey

"I know God will not give me anything I can't handle. I just wish that He didn't trust me so much." - Mother Theresa

But if the concern is regarding mail order brides and countries that participate in this program, then for K1 applicants where a female US citizen is applying for her Jamaican male fiance, seems to me that they would be excluded. From when has Jamaica been a country for mail order brides? And I never heard of a site called mail order grooms

I pray that all of you filing now are not a part of this mess (F)

Well......I hope that I am okay since my NOA1 date was February 8, 2006 so they will not recall my K-1 for further security checks. Unfortunatly, this has placed a major slow down at NVC. While it used to only take about 2-3 weeks to get to the embassy in Kingston after the NOA2 approval, it is now taking longer than 4-6 weeks in many cases. (That just sucks!!!!) :protest:

I have already waited 3 months for the damn NOA2 approval and now ANOTHER wait!!!!!!!!!!!! :ranting: !

If you are starting the process, I read that you will now have to supply more information about your criminal background ect....... so I would check with an immigration attorney to see how this new law affects the filing of a K-1. Most attorney's are saying that this new law will slow down and have a major affect on the K-1 process.

So...to those of you that already have the visa and your spouse is in the US, this should not affect you at all. For those of us that are in the middle of this process, we "MAY" be slowed down!!!! Can't imagine that they would scrutinize Jamaica since they are not known for mail order brides but it is the government we are dealing with!!!!!!!!! ARGH!!! :ranting:

Not necessarily...you would have to prove that "met" him while he was working here in the States...and you wouldn't want to get caught up in a lie w/ immigration :o. Just hold on, that's all you can do from this point (and book a ticket to go back and practice di dutty wine)
