[New discussion topic:

NAME ONE THING THAT YOU REALLY LOVE ABOUT YOUR MAN

I love Tony's sense of humor. He always makes me laugh  I also love how he helps out around the house - cleaning, laundry, chores, etc..(usually) without even being asked :innocent: I also love how he tries really hard to get along with my family and helps my parents with things without complaining or anything (L)

How has the adjustment been for your husband? PLEAZZZZZ Help!! I am worried that he will get homesick and want to return....I am looking into GED classes for him and also a Seventh Day Adventist church home.......Not too sure what else I can find to help with the adjustment period........

Yes, he will get homesick no matter what you do  Just as you would get homesick if you were to leave all your friends, family, job, etc.. I know my husband went through a depressed stage where he couldn't work yet, couldn't drive anywhere (no license and no car) and just felt like he couldn't contribute. Things we did to help: we find a Jamaican/Caribbean store about 20 min. away and stocked up on Jamaican food items. Tony brought back a bunch of reggae CD's with him that are kinda rare and he figured he couldn't find them here. We brought back Jamaican Rum  So he had his food, his music, and his rum. I made sure he always had a phone card so he could call family & friends when he wanted to.

These are just some ideas to make the transition easier. I was also lucky enough to meet a wonderful friend right here on Visajourney who lives nearby me and also married a Jamaican guy :luv: So now the 4 of us are friends and we get together about once a month to hang out and the guys can chat in Patois :P

Hey..thanks Rhonda-

These are some great tips. I learned through VJ that I live near Jonesie so maybe we can hook up and he will have someone to talk Patios to also so that he does not get tooooo homesick!! Duane comes from a big family and he is really close to all of them so the adjustment is going to be hard!!!

It is beautiful-so are you gonna do a tiara or a small viel?

Tiara all the way...it is my day to be the princess that i always want to be...hahaha

:thumbs::yes::yes::yes: -I can just imagine you will be beautiful.

I was just on Shaunna's page-OMG-Dutty Wine is a very vulger song I had to turn off the volume when my son was coming in the room.

I love your page on myspace but that song is something else, I can just imagine the dance.

hahaha thanks....they song is uumm interesting...haha...i have a video of a guy dancing to it...he isn't that great but...it is funny watching him dancing to it...you should watch it...haha

Shauna

I was cracking up watching the semi-video here http://youtube.com/watch?v=InLh8htZTZY&search=dutty that is something I coulda sworn she was gonna spin off her head :o:lol:

OH MY...hahaha...i was telling mike about watching the people dance to it...and he was like i don't want you to try to do it...and i said WHY??? and he said cause some girl from the states was doing it and she like almost broke her neck...so don't try it..haha he is too funny sometimes...

Shauna-

Make sure you keep that beautiful dress so that you can wear it again. That would be a perfect dress for you to wear to my wedding when you and Mike come out to California for the wedding. I just made the decision to postpone the August date until October or November....depending on when Duane gets approved!!! Having that August date was making the stress even worse. We will do the Justice of the Peace ceremony a few days after his arrival and the "Big Event" will take place later. The wedding coordinator at the Hotel told me that I can move my deposit to another day without any penalty and she is honoring the same menu price for everything so this makes me feel a little better.

I was starting to get gray hair with all the worring I have been doing lately...This can't be healthy!!!!! :help:

BTW...keep practicing that Dutty Wine dance girly......we can give everyone a show at my reception!!! :dancing:

Damien finally received his green card :dance: It's about time.

Finally!!! CONGRATULATIONS!!!! :dance::dance::dance:

I think the dress is wonderful Shauna!

Mother's Day Plans....well my mom is going to go to church with us and then we are either going to go out for lunch or she will come to our place along with my siblings. I don't know if we will do anything after that...maybe a trip up to the mountains or go visit my grandmother. Right now we are trying to track down Andre's mom so we could send her a card or something...she is impossible to keep track of

Well its only 5:35am here and I haven't been able to sleep forever...I am going back to bed.

Have a wonderful Sunday everyone. The weather here is terrible...cold and rainy

CONGRATS Shemanya !!

Mother's Day -- soccer.... we have a game at 3pm about an hour & 40 minutes (each way) from our house. It's just another day in my book. My mother, eh...maybe buy her a card ?? We're not close like that to be hangin and whatnot. My son won't get or make anything for me....maybe a couple of goals scored from him would be cool.

Weather here is beautiful. Weekend has been nice and somewhat relaxing....just soccer, soccer ....but my son has a project and homework to catch up on, argh !

Hope everyone is having a nice weekend.

HELLO FROM JAMAICA!!!

Adrian applied for the No impediment and paid for express service over 2 weeks ago and we finally got it today.

Things were going well with us till tonight we went to his aunts house and I used her computer to check my e-mail and there was an e-mail from expedia about his flight on May 18th...I called my mom to ask her to call them and find out what was going on, she called back to say that his flight was cancelled..I am so stressed right now...Adrian didnt have any credit on his phone so the neighbor next door let me use his phone to call and I was on hold forever with expedia, till I finally hung up...I have my laptop with me and the neighbor ran internet over to our apartment so at least I have internet and can start searching for flights...I am going to call expedia again tomorrow and see about trying to get another flight for him...they said they could give him a flight to Orlando, but we really want him to go through JFK and then to Orlando.

I will log in tomorrow and catch up on some reading...just wanted to drop in and say hello...Adrian is asleep next to me on the couch right now.
