NEW DISCUSSION QUESTION!

I am wondering the same thing. Especially when we go back to JA and get our party on...what are the new married rules?

Personally, I love dancing and music so it would be hard for me to go back to Jamaica and not go out...but if I have to choose between my husband and party then there is no thinking about my decision (partying! JUST KIDDING )

How do the rest of you feel about the question?

party together!!

You guys are crackin' me up . Damien and I go out together on a regular basis.

Congrats for the approval.

((SJB)) For real, but some men be trippin (excuse the bad grammar) - like it's old times and it's not proper for women to go out, even with their husbands.

Happy Friday, everyone!! Okay, funny Friday story....

Roy was mowing the lawn last night with our new mower from Wal-Mart. I swear, he wasn't out there more than five minutes and the back wheel fell off. Of course, I had to go out and fix it <after he dug through the grass for the bolt that fell off>...... Then, he gets to the backyard and proceeds to mow over an indoor/outdoor rug I had laying on the concrete...why? Because he could, of course. He gets the rug untangled from the blades, turns the mower back on and a TON of white smoke starts coming out the side. And to think, this is what he did for a living in Jamaica

Where did you say Roy is from? I swear him and Andre MUST be related :lol::lol:

I will post a picture of our "so far from perfect fence that we have been working on for over 2 months now when it was suppose to be a weekend project" as soon as it is finished ;)

Omigosh, I hear you completely. Lake had never worked a lawnmower before he came here. Now get this, his job for about 5 years was "landscaping" but it was MORE of a taking care of business lawns, which means trimming them up, etc. But they did it with weedeaters, trimmers, etc. Now when he said "landscaping" I thought he had LANDSCAPED. I asked him if he could fix these little boxes on the side of the house that are slowly sliding down the hill. They looked VERY pretty when an old boyfriend put them in 13 years ago. So, I come out to find he had pounded a couple stakes into the ground, to keep them from sliding FURTHER! ROFL They are already so far gone, its pitiful. I meant could he FIX it, not just "shore it up". OMG, I have to DIE sometimes. He is SO FAR GONE from mechanically inclined, that its not funny, but I have to laugh.

Another instance...Last week, we went up to the trailer, and the wind had blown the stupid plastic skirting pieces that cover the bottom apart. They are supposed to just snap back together (but its really tough to do sometimes if they have gotten uneven). Well its pretty easy for ME to see what needs to be done, but I guess not for some people. (My sis is the same way, cant figure it out for her life) .I mentioned it needed to be fixed, and I come out later, and almost DIED laughing (insideof course). Lake had duct taped the pieces back together, instead of snapping them back into place. ROFL

Oh and congrat to Danika and Morris, I bet ONeil is sooo happy!

CONGRATULATION MORRIS AND DANIKA!!!!! :dance::dance::dance:

I do not wish to share any information about this dead end journey.........I have reached my final destination on this train, and it is time for me to get off.

THIS TOO SHALL PASS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"If marriage means you fell in love, does divorce mean you climbed out?"

"You never really know a man until you have divorced him."-Zsa Zsa Gabor

"When a man hath taken a wife, and married her, and it come to pass that she find no favour in his eyes, because he hath found some uncleanness in her: then let him write her a bill of divorcement, and give it in her hand, and send her out of his house. And when she is departed out of his house, she may go and be another man's wife." Deuteronomy 24:1-2

"When you get to the end of your rope, tie a knot and hang on." - Franklin D. Roosevelt

"When one door of happiness closes, another opens; but often we look so long at the closed door that we do not see the one which has been opened for us." - Helen Keller

"Even though you may want to move forward in your life, you may have one foot on the brakes. In order to be free, we must learn how to let go. Release the hurt. Release the fear. Refuse to entertain your old pain. The energy it takes to hang onto the past is holding you back from a new life. What is it you would let go of today?" - Mary Manin Morrissey

Question for all of you that listen to dancehall:

How you feel about Matterhorn's "Dutty Wine" song and the dance?

(if you have no idea what I'm talking about, go to www.youtube.com and type DUTTY WINE in the searchbox)

Squitto, you do the Dutty Wine? :P

I think the dance is allright depending on who is actually doing the dance. Over the weekend I went to Fire Links and it was nice but when see some of the girls dance you really have to wonder. This girl was so wild w/it that I thought her neck was going to pop off. I think it can be too much though.

That could be another reason. I feel that some men are probably stuck in the past - where women stayed home and raised kids and did domestic duties, while the husband had all the "fun". D and I go out together (but we haven't since he reached, it is so lame out here) in JA also.

I agree, it's kinda wild. The Caribbean club here had a dance contest and I thought they were going to break their necks.

I don't think there's nothing wrong w/it as long as you're not getting buck wild or being disrespectful. Javon always say women go out to find men, but I just laugh b/c I don't go to clubs to find nothing but a little music and some fun w/my girls and such. Girl go out and have fun..theres nothing wrong w/it.

i guess i'm blessed to live in flatbush, it's like little jamaica...we have no problems finding yard products

That would be such a blessing. We live nowhere near anything JA. We even took a trip down to Seattle and couldn't find anything and asked some Seattle people on JA.com and they themselves ordered online. So it is the only way for us. We have a lot of Hispanic and East Indian stores around so we can find similar stuff to substitute but it isn't the same. As soon as Andre has his GC we are going to head up to Vancouver BC and see if we can find anything there.

back to work :(:(:(

what kind of work do you do?

i am a nanny for twins

NEW DISCUSSION QUESTION!

I am wondering the same thing. Especially when we go back to JA and get our party on...what are the new married rules?

Personally, I love dancing and music so it would be hard for me to go back to Jamaica and not go out...but if I have to choose between my husband and party then there is no thinking about my decision (partying! JUST KIDDING )

How do the rest of you feel about the question?

party together!!

Some men feel that once they marry a woman, all those things should cease.

Squito's a bashment baby like me, luckily we don't have that problem. His things now is that I cannot be scantily clad

Good Morning Ladies,

Hope every one has a beautiful and blessed day. It is a wonderful sunny day here in NYC.

it's soooooooooooooooo nice outside isn't it!! i love it :dance::dance:

where in nyc are you? we should meet up!

Well ever since we got HypeTV we have been updating our dance moves to the latest and greatest. Some dances though should be used for private in home "shows" only

I bet you two put those moves to some *ahem* creative use ;)

Gonna check out Sams - some of the sites are rip off but since you've used them I'll see what I can surprise D with, and get Moms some more spices an things.

The thing I really like is that they are a real store in NY and they have all their contact info (which I have used) so it is pretty safe. I was real weary of ordering from a strictly online store...you never know. Sams accidently double charged my debit card once...they called right away to tell me and fixed the problem that same day. It was very nice of them to call and let me know whats up. Overall I am very impressed with their service and their prices seem pretty good.

Hi Mrs. Squito, I am currently on the west side 23rd Street Between Lexington and Park. Where in da 'Bush are you? I use to live there a few years back. I just moved to Harlem about 3 years now.

Can you believe it May an dit is already 80 degress. I can't wait for July.

I work in the Manhattan Mall, we're not too far i'm on 33rd street. I live on Ocean btw church and albermarle ...we gotta link up one of these days since we're so close.
