Damien is trying so hard to get another job. He isn't making much money at his current job but his benefits are excellent. He's in a union, has sick and vacation leave, insurance, etc. Of course none of that matters because he wants to make more money.

I was able to add him to my health insurance for free because I already had family coverage.

Hey ladies....a few comments here:

Round trip or one-way...whichever is cheaper --immigration does not care.

Interview:

I agree with Jonesie if you can go go. I did not go because I knew Oneil could handle it. We had a delay due to immigration just being blasted picky. They requested more evidence such as cards etc. All I did was fax Oneil our text messages and e-mails and that was it. They then approved him 2 days later. What a PAIN. So if you cant go and you think your man can handle it then stay home.

Oneils brother's interview is May 5th!!! I hope he gets to come here!!! I cant wait to here. He is engaged to my good friend here in MN.

I am glad everybody is getting a job that is here now. I just mailed off the AOS package yesterday! YEAH. It should have arrived this morning in Chicago.

Now the waiting begins for the EAD.

9/06/05 I-129F sent to Nebraska

01/27/06 Received VISA!!

01/28/06 Flew home to MSP!! (POE)

(To see details go to Our Story)

4/24/06 Mailed AOS package to Chicago

5/4/06 EAD Check Cashed

5/9/06 AOS Check Cashed!!!

6/30/06 Work Permit should have been here but mailman sent it back on accident.

9/07/06 InfoPass appointment to expedite new Work Permit and Fingerprints.

09/09/06 Fingerprints

10/01/06 EAD arrives

12/6/06 AOS Interview!! Done for 2 years.

10/22/08 Received I-751

10/24/08 Cashed check

10/29/08 Received NOA1

Hey Elizabeth - How was Henry's first day at his job?

From what he told me all went well. He did not seem too tired, but had a bad headache. I am not sure he told me everything and just as well...he said something about red bags that signify "medical waste! run!" and the germophobe in me nearly fainted.

He said the man whom he is "shadowing" is all right and is showing him the ropes. I met him after work at a car dealership so we could look at used cars. As we were looking at cars, I asked him if he thinks he could stand the job for at least six months, he said "why not?" So I take that as a good sign. :P I am sure a better opportunity will come along at the right time. For now, we are just giving thanks.

AOS, EAD - 115 days from mailing AOS to conditional Green Card in Hand

"When a man hath taken a wife, and married her, and it come to pass that she find no favour in his eyes, because he hath found some uncleanness in her: then let him write her a bill of divorcement, and give it in her hand, and send her out of his house. Hey Shamonya, I read your message late, I'll give to a call later tonight.

I added David to my insurance with no extra cost as well, basically if you are not in healthcare or working for the state or the government and maybe a large company, insurance is not reasonable at all.

The busier David becomes the less he does at home :( He had me spoiled :((F)

Happy Birthday (belated a bit) to Kim and the other Jill.

Dee, even the state here has high health care costs. I used to work for the state and it was good back then, but just talked to a former co-worker last month, and he said his family benefits are costing him over $480 a month. Ouch!

Well, we got a call today. I was HOPING it was from the schools, but it turned out to be a job I had Lake apply for last month when we did the flurry of applications. Its for an agricultural plant we have here, and it pays terrific, 12.60 an hour, BUT...and the big but..I was asking the guy, you have rotating shifts and you get one weekend off a month. Now in his 20's he might have been interested for a couple years, just to jump start his bank account, but gosh, in your 40's you would like a lil time off now and again. I DID set up the interview, but told him he doesnt have to go, or he could go and see what the job is all about, and see what he thought, it never means he has to take one.

I dont dare ask Lake if he could stand the one he is working at for six months, I think I already know the answer as he is already grumpy all the time. My normally sweet dispositioned man has turned into a GROUCH! :( That and he really wasnt meant for 2nd or 3rd shift, he is a morning person. Unlike me. I love the night shift, but I think it would just kill him. The 2nd at least he can manage. Some people just are NOT night people.

I think I should send him to schooling for medical something or other, I KNOW hospitals have pretty good benefits normally. I have a friend in California and his health care is totally free! FREE! And he is just a tech, no schooling in the medical field, but the business field. I think he must get pretty good vacations as well, as he is always taking time off. Hmmm...
