Hanover people unite! Henry is from Hanover...

He's from a small place in the hills called Rejoin.

Places I'm familiar with are Hopewell, Bamboo, Coldspring, Thompsons Hill....

Anyone?

Good evening (F)

David is from Hanover, he lived in the hills as well. :D

Congrats Tenika

Wow! It sounds like a lot of your men are from the Mobay area  Tony is from Ochi. Well, originally Port Maria in St. Mary, but he's been in Ochi since he was like 17. Who else is from Ochi?

Does your significant other have nice table manners, and if not, how do you politely discuss what and what is NOT appropriate? AND get them to understand?????

My BIG FOOT placed strategically between his legs seems to do the trick. You should try it!!

 Great idea. This is a ongoing agrument over here :help:.

CONGRATS, Michael!!! :dance::dance::dance:

Lee

So I hope everyone has a great day today....Last night I went to the Cique de Sole (sp) show Delerium, and it was very good, we had "nose bleed" seats but when we started walking up to our seats one of the workers told us to come back down and she gave us 3 tickets to lower seats, boy was that great..they must not have sold all the lower $125.00 tickets so they were letting people move down into the unsold seats...I just love those shows

So unitil later, Joanna

Joanna, I want to check out the Cirque du Soleil so badly. Where is it in Orlando? Is it there permanently or touring?

Lee

Hey Lee, the one I went to last night is a traveling one...but there is one called La Nubia that is in downtown disney al the time...I have seen it also and it is much better then the one last night... I think I am going to take Adrian to see it when he gets here...Tickets are kinda pricey but it is well worth it...I have also seen one in Las Vegas that was good.

Joanna

Joanna, I'll be in Orlando the end of July and may stay over an extra day to check out La Nubia. What a coincidence, as I'm writing this, I heard an advertisement for Cirque du Soleil 'Delirium'. It's going to be in Fort Lauderdale soon. Thanks for the info.

Wohoo!!! Happy Friday!!! Yee Haw!!!

Welcome to VJ and to the Yardie Thread, Darlene!!!

Belated congrats to Tenika and Rohan!!!

Congratulations to Michael on his 1st job in the US!!!! Good luck, Michael!!

(It is such a good feeling to finally get work in this country and know that all is on the up and up. Henry came home from orientation yesterday with a bad headache....from listening to all the speeches by the health insurance lady, the union rep, the life insurance man, the tuition reimbursement lady  ....what a blessing I told him. Those are nice headaches to have - far nicer than the one you get when you have no insurance (been there).

Debt: Thanks for the responses on debt - our men all seem to be on the same wavelength.

LOL @ Big Foot Mindy!!!:lol: That was too funny.

Table Manners: Henry's issues are few and some of my coworkers have worse issues so I am trying to "see wid 'im." My boss, for example, has a bad way of reaching into your plate and taking food with her hands. Sometimes she breaks off a piece and puts the rest back on your plate. :o Other boss chews with her mouth open (I CAN'T STAND THIS!!!!:angry::angry: ) and yaps non stop.

Henry's beverages are always too hot and I can't take that slurping, so I always pour cold water or soy milk into his tea or that LASCO beverage thing that he makes....or his Horlicks or Milo. Or I do what Guyanese people do - pour it from one cup to another repeatedly until some of the heat has "evaporated."

Jill - I love and cook bitter melon all the time. Sometimes you have to soak it in a bit of salt water first to get rid of some of the bitterness (although I like it bitter) - let it sit for a while and then squeeze out the liquid. If you add a bit of coconut milk (a tiny bit) after the curry, it will be much better. But I remember your mentioning Lake's health issues, so the coco milk may not be what you want.

AOS, EAD - 115 days from mailing AOS to conditional Green Card in Hand

4/28/09 - Moved to CSC

06-20-09- Received 10 year Greencard
