......and prayer, I decided to put myself back in the job market. I've been here for just over two years and had grown very comforable in my position but I wasn't exactly being challenged. I went on a series of interviews with one of the major ad agencies here in NYC and got a new job, making significantly more than what I am making now. My last day here is Friday and I have one week off before I start my new job on May 1st. I am really looking forward to the challenges that await me. The Lord has been so good to Squito and I. :luv:

WOW great news...good luck and congrats with the new job!!!

Yes! Congrats thats great!!

I neglected to mention this before, as things have been ridiculously hectic for me as of late (as you can probably tell by my scarcity on the boards) but I have a new job. My current gig just wasn't cutting it on the financial end. With Squito not working, all of our regular living expenses, plus the wedding expenses (not to mention the immigration expenses) I knew I needed to supplement my income some way. I considered taking on a second job, but I didn't want to spread myself too thin. So after a great deal of consideration and prayer, I decided to put myself back in the job market. He goes 4 days a week, and I just NOW found out about free computer classes at the job development center, but he will be too wiped to go. :( This temp job he started yesterday, its REAL physical, and he worked pretty much 8 1/4 hours straight. They didnt show him the employee breakroom or anything, they just said if he needs to eat, dont do it right there, go out. Not sure the exact wording, but poor baby took it to mean he had to go OUTSIDE to eat, and it was raining yesterday! So he just stood in the corner, wolfed down the food, and went back to work. Lots of lifting. He is working with two other folks, one gal, and one other guy. Neither one of them introduced themselves, but the gal did chat him up an bit, and laughingly asked at the end of the day if he would be back tomorrow. I told him...well, mebbe the guy didnt talk or introduce himself cuz they see so many people here one day and gone next, you get to where you are like "Whats the point?", but he was still felt slighted the guy never muttered a word to him the whole day. :(

I asked him..well..wasnt it a lot harder doing sugar cane? His reply was yes, but at least he got BREAKS! I told him to take care of himself, and take them, they DID tell him he could break for a few minutes whenever he needed, but he didnt know where to go, so he didnt do it.

Arghhhhh!

Ay pobrecito (poor baby)!!! Folks can be harsh man. Tell him to hang in there. It won't be forever. Henry starts work Monday and I am a bit nervous - I don't anyone mistreating my baby. I get mistreated sometimes too but I can handle it and they compensate me for the abuse.

Another poll added in Yahoo, but I'd like to discuss it here as well

GED - IS YOUR SPOUSE PLANNING TO TAKE THE TEST OR HAS ALREADY TAKEN AND PASSED/FAILED IT?

David is enrolled in GED classes, he did not do very well either on the inital test. They encouraged him to take ESL as well, because right, it forces you to use, understand correct English. If he understood it more he would have done much better, so he is taking it day by day. He was learning fast, he can add and subtract faster than me. He started helping with landscaping, now he needs to get enrolled in the evening class. He also heard through the grape fine that as long as he was enrolled in a GED class he could attend this trade school, where they teach carpentry/painting...all free, once they send him out on "practals" he could start earning pay., once it's okay with the gov  that is..

Anthony is still taking the GED. He plans on going to Nursing classes in the fall. Hopefully he will get his EAD and AOS by the summer and can make some money before starting nursing.

Quick question from one of the polls on the yahoo site....

For the ladies who's men are MoBay...what part of MoBay? and where did you meet them. I just wonder if its possible if our guys know each other. I know my guys works at pretty touristy spot in MoBay...just curious if they may know each other. Considering most of us met our guys while on vacation.

And I wonder them same thing about the other areas as well. Ever wonder if they know each other?

Hmm... I don't even know what part of MoBay Michael lived in. I think it was called Pieceview - I really don't know. He worked at the Doll's House on the Hip Strip for about a year before he came up. I met him when he worked at Errol's in Negril.

Damien was living in Westgate Hills. He lived in Reading when we first met. And he worked at the Baywest Centre mall. I'm sure they crossed paths.
