Anyone knows of a good lawyer in the Philippines? I need one to defend my dad. I don't wanna go into details but it's one of those David VS Goliath cases and unfortunately, my dad being in David's shoes. If you experienced hiring a lawyer in PI, how much total did it cost you? I know different lawyers will ask for different amounts, but I just want to know how much to expect.

what kind of case do you need a lawyer for??

immigration lawyer? was he charged with a crime? murder?

i'm sure the fees vary just like they do here in America, depending on what kind of case it is. for example, an immigration lawyer can cost you $8000 to $10000, where as a defense lawyer in a murder trial can be a quarter million. lol...

He's a government employee and he made an unintentional mistake (it's not murder, rape, robbery, etc. It can be classified as negligence). It got blown out because some people he has worked with who never were a fan of him have been secretly stabbing him in the back, and did their best so my father could be charged with a case, when there shouldn't have been a case. They made up lies and even sabotaged the witnesses who could testify for my father to go against him. They threatened everyone who wanted to help my dad to be charged with a case. It got even more complicated because the same people have political connections, and you know how it works in the Philippines, politicians are royalty. My father asked for help from a lawyer from our town but the lawyer backed out because he received a note from someone that he would lose his license if he tried to help my dad. Needless to say, that lawyer is incompetent. My dad has been depressed regarding this matter because he could be potentially discharged from service if he doesn't get the help he needs. He's worked for the government for 30+ years and has always been faithful to his job. He always works by the book that sometimes he angers some people, especially politicians who think they're above the law. So to be dishonorably discharged because of injustice is just not fair to him and he will never be able to accept it. So he really needs a lawyer who knows what he's doing.

Just wondering, if he's worked for the government for over 30 years why doesn't he just retire before any court proceedings, at least he would have his retirement.
