Interview in Montreal January 22, 2013

Well, after almost a year to the date of filing our K1 petition, my children and I are going to Montreal for our interview on Tuesday. I went over the checklist today and I have everything ready and filed in an accordian file folder in triplicate. :yes:

I'm just wondering about the interview with the kids... will they interview them separately or will they just stay with me? They are 10 and 12 yrs old. Anyone have any experience with this?

Of course it's supposed to be minus a gazillion degrees on Tuesday morning... so not sure how early I will arrive outside the consulate. I can't see waiting in the cold for longer than 30 minutes with kids in those freezing temperatures... :(

Any other VJer's have an appointment that day?

The line to get in the door moves very slow, each person has to show their interview letter and passport at the door, then get processed through security. You will likely be standing outside a while whether you get there early or not. Dress warm and huddle together!

2012-01-21: I proposed, outside in the freezing cold!

2012-08-01: NOA2

2012-08-17: Packet 3 received (email)

2012-09-10: Packet 3 sent

2012-09-12: Packet 4 received (email) with request for 2 photos

Get there early and be first in line. I think that will be the best way to avoid a longer wait outdoors.

When I interviewed in April, the kids came up to the interview windows with me. The first woman, where we handed in our documents, barely even acknowledged the kids at all. The second one asked the kids a few questions, like how old they were. It wasn't very "interview-y" at all. They'll stay with you the whole time.

There's a vending machine in the waiting area. If your kids are anything like mine, take some change. They amused themselves during the wait-time by selecting snacks and munching. :)

I'm feeling a little nervous... looking at all the paperwork gathered... a year's worth of work and waiting, and it all comes down to this day... :unsure:

My 9yr old didn't get interviewed at all. She was just asked if she was Kaitlyn and asked her if she was excited to move to U.S.
