Good News! Interview date moved up!

I was just about to stop pestering the consulate to move our interview date up (I had sent at least 6 emails, went to the consulate in person, sent a letter) when I found I had a contact through a club I belong to here in Accra. Using that connection directly was the key, I think. So, we were lucky and they moved our date from April 5, 2007 to November 30! This month!

Now we are just trying to make sure all of the paperwork is in order and trying to take more photos. Thanks for everyone's advice and support here, and I hope I'll have something good to post in three weeks!

We did go ahead and buy a refundable ticket for December 12, just in case everything goes smoothly and they issue the visa quickly, so that we could fly back for the holidays. I thought if we waited to buy a ticket the flights might fill up. So much to do...including buying the 7 or 8 winter coats O thinks he'll need to layer! I finally see the reason for the places at Makola Market where they sell heavy winter coats.

CONGRATS A & )..that is absolutely amazing..best of luck to you both on the interview date!!!!! As for me and my hubby, we just finally submitted our final paperwork for the cr-1, are now awaiting for that to be approved to get an interview date.....We are still in the process of submitting our packet 3 for ghana, so much drama with that but the way i see its all in God's Hands....I am so happy for the both of you!!! :dance::dance::dance::dance:(L):D(L):thumbs:

Basically it's less a formal club and more like a group of friends. I can't post a name or contact here. I can't for certain be sure this is what helped (I sent a letter, went to the consulate, went to US Citizen Services) but it might have. No one actually told me or explained to me what made them able to change the date. I think it could have helped that I've been in Ghana for almost two years with my fiance and must leave in the next couple of months. Everyone is now getting April interview dates, it seems. I know four other couples with mid-April dates.

What is your timeline? Which kind of visa are you applying for?
