Well, I thought that since reading on this website became somewhat therapeutic for me during this process, I decided that I should contribute after the interview just so others can read what to expect.

We had an interview this morning right when the office opened, in Portland, OR.

We went through security, (I forgot that I had brought pepper spray in my coat so security let me get rid of it, haha)

Went upstairs to the waiting room where there were about 30 people, mostly waiting for infopass. About 15 minutes after our scheduled time our officer came out and called us by name. We went into her office, she was super down to earth and really nice. I also feel like she should have been VERY intimidating had she suspected that something were wrong with our case.

She asked my wife all of her info, name, birth date, etc. She asked her if she were ever a criminal, communist, terrorist or if she had ever claimed that she had been born in America.

She then said "I just want to tell you, this case looks really, really good. Everything looks good and the paperwork was good too."

She asked me how we had met, and also WHY we got married (which threw me off).

She asked if we had anything we wanted added to the file. I gave her our bank statements, paystubs, and check images to show we both used it. She said that was great and just what she needed. She said she couldn't resist looking at our photos and did so for a quick minute and asked where we got married.

The one thing she did ask for was our marriage certificate which was not in the file for some reason. I gave her a copy she could keep and she was very pleased with that.

At this point she told us it was approved and we would get the GC in two weeks maximum and she would put it in the system at the end of the day.

She then told us about the 90 day period for ROC and wrote down the info on a sticky note for us. She also encouraged my wife to get citizenship eventually so that she could vote.

She then asked if we had any questions. I had a few.

That was it. The "best case scenario" I imagined before going was pretty close to this experience.

Due to the nature of this process I think it's IMPOSSIBLE not to worry, but really, in the end if you have nothing to worry about the interview will be a breeze. I have had nothing but pleasant experiences with USCIS and with other branches of DHS.

Thank you to everyone on this site sharing their experiences and I will be back in two years (minus some days) for ROC I imagine.

Hang in there everyone, Peace.

sounds like you got married with a GC holder, if yes, these kind of cases will be easier, i mean 99% is bona fide marriage, congratulations, enjoy the time in USA.

I'm the USC actually, my wife was applying for the GC.
