Hi everyone. I just thought I would drop in and see what is still going on with the May filers @ VSC. I cannot believe there are still people waiting for approvals. I would imagine you have all put in a service request by now and if you have not PLEASE do so ASAP!!!! I had put one in on Nov 16th, of course I got a reponse in the mail within the 15 days saying my request was approved but I wasnt giving them any more time and contacted my Senator. After his inquiry I received my approval in 7 days. I had also sent the Ombudsman an email inquiry requesting assistance regarding the processing time and waiting for a decision and they also investigated ( but it was the day of my approval) so they closed the inquiry after notifying me of their findings!!!!!! SO there is help just keep on them. You are all in my prayers and I wish you much luck and success in your journeys!

Uggh , I have my senator on it and also did a service request. The service request I did was responded to Nov 9 and I was told if I didn't hear anything within 90days to call again. My senators office checks on a weekly basis , and still nothing. Ombudsman I haven't tried but I guess after Feb 9th that will be my route! That will give them their 90days!

Can you tell me more about the Ombudsman? And how to contact them?

cisombudsman@dhs.gov here is the email. I sent an email with all of my information including case number names DOB , phone calls made to USCIS etc. The Ombudsman works on behalf of the petitioner. If you feel you have not being treaated correctly or you are not getting approprite responses or you have exceeded the processing time. you can contact them and they will investigate for you and demand a response from USCIS. It only took them 7 days to get me an answer.

Thanks a lot. You know I am not the one that directly sends emails and calls and does stuff like that. Usually my husband is the one that takes care of it. When we submitted our request service (I think that's what he did) they answered back after 15 days more or less and told us they couldn't help us because we didn't write in the email the "code" of the people we talked to on the phone when we called to have info. I don't know if this makes any sense to you at all but this is what I understood and what my husband was able to explain to me. I still have an impediment when it comes to this kind of stuff! I am not even able to pay with my credit card if my husband is not there!

Anyways I let him do all the talking, calling and writing because everything is so different from what I am used to.

We've been waiting for 7 months. We contacted a senator that said he'd be looking into our case and asked us to wait 30-60 days (February is gonna be 60 days since he told us that).

What do you suggest we do next?

This website is a blessing, thanks a lot!

I have looked at your timeline. USCIS states they are currently processing May 28th petitions @ VSC. When I filed my service request it stated 5 months processing time and not a specific date. Since they are not within the 5 months time frame and are listing a specific date now they wont do a service request or any other until the date listed is your NOA1 date or after. Unfortunately there is not much more to do then wait. My NOA1 was May 18th and it was approved on Dec 12th. So it was 7 months for us also. Have your husband check your status on the website and go up and down with the last few numbers until the petition type changes. You will see what group you are in. Track them. If there are petitions of the same category as yours being approved in your group you can call USCIS and tell them that there are petitions with the same date as yours that are being approved and they will then allow you a service request. Have him go further when checking for dates after yours with approvals!!!! This will be your in for another service request!!!!!!!!
