hi every one,i send our i130 got my first nov jeb 6 2012 .Every time i call ask what the problem is i get nothing .no clear answer from them only if i havent heard in 6 months to call uscis.i have tryed congressman every one i even have a lawyer nothing..last letter was sept 17 saying untill required back ground ck is complete they cant move forward .i dont understand this i have never done any thing wrong .either has he .i have been married before but did sumit papers and now married to siamak .what do i do what can i do.is there any one that can help on this .how long does it take for a ck. we just dont know what to do. helppppppppppppppppppppppppp PLEASE EXCUSE SPELLING ECT IM NOT GREAT ON A KEY BOARD

we are in the same boat we had service request and they said call if we did not hear within 6 mos but we are waiting for 10 months already.. they said they are doing background check and additional review.. but i know our papers is sitting in their desk..and they did not do anything yet! so hang in there.. You are not alone,. we are all in this together!

Unfortunately until the background check is complete your case will not move. Statistically in 80% of cases the results are back in 2 weeks. In 20% of cases theres a discrepancy and it can take up to 6 months to resolve. In apx 1% of cases it takes longer then 6 months.

However, I highly doubt that you are in the 20% or the 1% where a discrepancy was found causing your case to stall. Rather because of the country you are adjusting from-Iran, you are subject to administrative processing (AP). It can be a long process. I would advise you to search the forums for more info on it. (either search for administrative processing or AP, just be advised that on Visajourney AP also stands for advanced parole- a travel document)
