Hello VJ!! I haven't been here for quite a while, but not a dull moment has passed. On January 15, my wife finally received her Green Card in the mail. No warning, no interview- just a letter saying it was approved one day and the card itself the next. And this is exactly 15 days after discovering we are expecting. Yes, that means positive pregnancy test on the first day of the year. :D Right after returning from NYC to watch the ball drop. Never again!!

I just want to say for anyone still in the process to PLEASE hang in there. Our journey over the last year made Mt Everest look like a mole hill. The combination of soo many events coupled with USCIS delays made us both want to give up several times. Adjustment to a new way of life are not easy, much less adjusting to each other, as 2 independent people learning to live together. Then throw in tantrums from an unstable ex-wife, a period of unemployment, trust issues and it was a recipe for disaster that read like something that could only be dreamed up in Hollywood. Both of us somehow hung onto hope, and now 13.5 months after her arrival-

We have been married for 13 months

We are very happily expecting

We have resolved our trust issues

I am securely employed with the best pay of my life,

We are now 3,000 miles from my Ex-wife

And she says I am learning how to cook and will be a big boy soon.

Thank you VERY VERY much VJ for all the support when we needed it, and the resources that allowed us to navigate the immigration process as painlessly as can possibly be done. I hope that others in that difficult first year can draw inspiration to overcome the hard, hard adjustment period. Cheers!!
