Hello all, I was wondering if it is ok to try to get your CFO seminar on the same day of ur flight to the u.s.?

Example you bought a ticket to the US that would leave on 11pm Monday

Can you try to get a CFO seminar/ticket on that same day monday morning?

Extra details im 30 yrs old my fiancee is the same age as i am..i just want to make sure they dont stall me..thank you very much in advance

I would say that its possible, but not desirable. If something goes wrong . . . let say that the person in charge of doing one job or another is absent and did not designate a replacement - then you don't have the stamp or signature. Some similar happened to us on a local level when we were recovering from an administrative error on our marriage license. You would be, in my opinion, cutting it way too close. Without that stamp/signature in her passport - game over you lose! You will watch your flight take off and there is nothing you can do about it.headbonk.gif If you do decide to do it this way, just make sure that there are no holidays or religious festivals scheduled for that day. I would recommend just flying her up to Manila/Cebu early in the morning, have her get it done, and fly her back that evening. Thats what I did, it worked like a charm. Rescheduling a local airline trip to Manila is MUCH cheaper than missing 2 flights . . . Just my opinion . . .

Warm Regards,

Mark and Rassel!

Manila does have more seats/class, but the daily limits still are not all the big. I know I would not try to get it handled in a half day.

CFO:

ALL exiting required to attend. There have been changes regarding CFO so for sure read through their website.

Update: Please check the schedule of the counseling session before proceeding to CFO because it is country-specific and the slots are limited only to 15 per session for Manila and 12 per session for Cebu. It is on a first-come-first-serve basis. ( I don't see the 30 seats offered on certain days at the Manila CFO anymore)

CFO Online Registration Form: http://www.cfo.gov.p...trationform.pdf Complete this and print a couple copies to bring to the CFO seminar, it will save you time.

Required documents & "OTHER DOCUMENTS" they ask for at CFO: copies of; CENOMAR, certified birth certificate, bio page of passport, visa page from passport, pictures together. From USC (copies of) - bio page of passport, birth certificate, divorce decree (if been married before) are the most common requests. The "other documents" clause can be ANYTHING with those nit-wits at CFO.

It's technically possible but it would make for one long stressful day and, as others have said, you never know what sort of bs you're going to run into (sorry the computer is down, come back tomorrow, etc.) Don't chance it unless you absolutely have no other way to do it. Good luck :)

You've come this far, schedule the flight a day or two later, just absolutely not worth the risk of something going wrong. The CFO thing is a joke, and they have and do deny people or require more paperwork, etc. Maybe not super common, but wouldn't it suck to miss your flight if you happen to be the one!

Not worth the risk!

If it is really impossible for you to do the CFO seminar at an earlier time, you should try to attend the 9am schedule. This means be there at the CFO office at 5am. Bring photocopy of 2 valid IDs. Bring other documents that they might require aside from those listed on the website (divorce decrees, CENOMAR, NBI clearance, pictures, etc.)

The main purpose of this seminar is to make sure that the Filipinos who are going to live in another country can take care of themselves and to make sure that they are ready for the changes that is ahead of them.

Good luck!

Its possible to get struck by lightning also.

Why put your fiancee through all this stress when it really isn't necessary, heck just getting through the airport is stress enough at NAIA.

no its really me (the beneficiary) posting here :D

okay i will take 2-3 days to ensure it, then have a flight scheduled on the 4th day.

i am from davao so i have to take a hotel and i just felt i didnt want to waste that much money you know..by staying there too long (hotel, eating , expenses).

hubbybunny: i will get the seminar and the ticket at that same day, thanks for the tip..

With the limited number of slots available each day it is best not to risk being unable to attend the seminar. You can attend the CFO seminar prior to getting your visa, you just need to go back to the CFO to get your sticker and that only takes an hour or two depending on the queue.

I am also getting ready for the CFO and the registration form has an item called VISA NUMBER and DATE OF ISSUE. Where can I get this? I already have my passport and visa in hand but there's no number on the envelope. Is it one of the numbers on the sticker on the plastic pouch or something?

I am (usually) the beneficiary.

Check the VISA attached inside your passport. It has a number and date of issue there.

Hahaha! I'm so silly! I was too scared to open the thing even just to retrieve my passport!! I thought the visa would be somewhere in plain view because of the whole WARNING: DO NOT OPEN OR ELSE spiel outside of the envelope. Hehehe I hope my fiance doesn't read this!! Thank you!!

I am (usually) the beneficiary.
