I filed my husbands visa application in Athens Greece, I was living there w/ him for 7 months at the time. I asked the embassy if I could travel to the U.S. for my brothers wedding and they said that isn't a problem, because I the U.S. citizen can travel back and forth whenever I want so I went. I had a 2 month return date and two weeks after I got there the embassy sent me a letter to my home in the U.S. stating that since I traveled back to Chicago, I obviously live there and they had sent my visa application to the Chicago lockbox office for filing. So... now we've been waiting and stuck in initial review with no answer since then. no noa 2 and have to now live seperately because they cant do their job correctly. any comments or ideas? sent to lee's summit in Sept. and sent back to local office for review or whatever. now waiting.

That sucks, but you were lucky to even have a country with DCF, Denmark doesn't have it and we are stuck as well. Not only does Denmark not have it, but they don't even bother to give Danish or Norwegian beneficiaries interviews in their own countries.

were you living with a visa in greece?

After we were married and because I would've overstayed the allowed 3 months in Greece, I got the equivalent of a Green Card (adia paramoneis) in greece about a month after the wedding because I married a Greek citizen. They didn't even ask any questions other than about my family (also Greek) and that was it.
