Dear All,

Still got a while to go on our K1 application as we are December filers (NOA1), but we wanted to make sure we did everything we possibly could and have it ready to minimise any delays in the process.

I was wondering at what point should we start gathering information for the NVC? In particular the Affidavit of Support information and backup which could take a little while to obtain.. I am guessing that whilst it would be nice to have it ready in advance, you also want it to not be too far in advance that the information is considered old.

One other minor thing, what are these Packs 3 and 4 that NVC will apparently send me (and where are Packs 1 and 2). I see them on my timeline, and again wonder if there is things I should be gathering now for them so they are ready, but i dont really see any mention of them in the K1 visa guide on this website.

At present all i have is a copy of everything we submitted with our original I-129f application.

Thanks for your assistance,

Owen

K-1s don't have to send anything to the NVC. The affidavit of support is sent from the US Citizen to the beneficiary/visa applicant. The "Packet 3," etc. are usually available on the embassy/consulate's website. Be sure to review the K-1 flowchart: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?autocom=custom&page=k1flow

Ah that is a bit clearer thank you, didnt spot that one.

Still, for example the affidavit of support, which seems to be the main form i will need. My fiance and her family (her co-sponser) want to fill in the form and get the details/backup now. But considering we only got NOA1 in December, would this information be considered to old when we submit it (hopefully in June/July)? I guess thats what im trying to say..

Assuming this may also be the case for some of the other documents like proof of vaccinations or the like..

I started gathering all my info for my fiance, as far as affidavit of support, after he got the NOA2. You have ways to go from NOA2 til medical and interview date. At that time I also sent him photos, my phone bill copies, my pay slips, IRS tax reports for past few years etc for him to have. As for vaccinations he didnt need any but sounds like for K1 you dont need vaccinations. They will decide all this anyway when you go for the medical exam after they send you information about your interview date.

Ah great, basically wanted to confirm that I wouldnt cause a delay by waiting to get NOA2 before gathering that information, but by the sounds of it that is not a problem, thanks for your help.

Ho hum, back to the waiting game.

It's far too early to send the I-134 to you, especially since your interview will occur after April 15, the co-sponsor will need to provide you with a Tax Year 2012 tax return transcript. Wait until the NOA2 is received and then move forward with getting that documentation.

On the vaccinations, you can go to a GP now to get the needed vaccinations, but you will need to be sure to bring proof to the Knightsbridge exam, which won't happen until post-NOA2. You will need to have them recorded during the Knightsbridge exam on the DS-3025. Be sure to get a copy of that sheet!

Last, but not least, you should fill in your country information. It will serve as a bat signal for those who have gone/are going through London and they can weigh in. Once you get to the NOA2 and the approved petition is forwarded to the embassy/consulate, the procedures vary greatly.

Thanks for the advice, will do. As im from London, hopefully i have most of the required Vaccinations already. Our I-129f I have just because she was coming to visit me so we thought I may as well have a copy of our application handy.

I will certainly add on my location info for future reference though.

Now that we know you are from the UK, a lot of information is in this thread. Start at the beginning. http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/350185-london-2012-k1s-from-noa2-to-interview-thread/

Get shots now. There is a list in Post 1.

Prepare Affidavit of Support after 2012 taxes are filed.
