I have some dental problems that need to be addressed very quickly. My husband has no dental insurance through work. One dentist suggested CareCredit but when I applied for the card I was turned down. This was probably due to my husband's bad credit history. Also there are no dentists in this area who have in house financing (accept payments).

We have no credit cards and I don't know where to turn. Does anyone have suggestions? Is there perhaps a credit card we can apply for that will accept our application even though we have bad credit history?

(Also at this time we are trying to save over $500 for Removal of Conditions stage of my immigration status.)

I think the best you could do is to try to find a cash store. It's usury, but since they have such high interest, maybe they are willing to give cash to comeone with bad credit. I normally would never recommend this for someone, but if it's an emergency and you have no other options, at least it's a possibility.

Or perhaps you could pawn some things and then pay off the loan on fixed payments so you can get your stuff back. Getting unsecured credit when you have bad credit is next to impossible. you should try to find a way to secure a loan with assets (rings and gold etc.) or future assets (moneymart or something like that).

Is there a sliding scale clinic in your area? I used one for a few years before I was able to buy into the state insurance (I'm self-employed). They might have a dentist. The clinic in my area has doctors and a dentist. A sliding scale clinic looks at your income (you need to apply and bring the proof they ask for) and they decide, based on your income, how much you need to pay. When I first went there I could see a doctor for $10. Later as my income picked up it cost me $20. That's a lot better than paying $90 or more. If you are wondering, no, you do not need to be on any government aid program to get in. It's for anyone who cannot afford to see a doctor (or dentist).

Lots of dentists will do work for A LOT less if you pay in cash. That might be something to consider vs. getting (and will be expensive and won't cover jack sh!t) dental insurance right now.

I understand that you are having hardships with money, but depending on a procedure, it might not be a huge amount.

Any chance to borrow from relatives, maybe?

Most dental plans have a waiting period for any restorative work. Personally, I feel if the tooth is that bad, get it pulled, and when you have the money, get dentures. No restorative work, even implants, is permanent, so you might as well just eliminate the bad tooth, or teeth, and take care of the ones left.
