You posted from a known hate site and that ######'s getting reported.

Your kind of making his intolerance point for him. Just saying . I for sure don't hate Islam. I detest radical Islam with the same disdain detest radical Christianity. The only difference is that our Radical right Christians make good relaity shows and protest at funerals, and are hated by most.

In places like Saudi, Afghanistan, Iraq they are running the country.

I know that in other countries, there are things I don't agree with. I can't speak for them or how they act in Allah's name. I will bring the ruckus to you no matter the color, gender or religion. But I know that not all Muslims are like what he wants to portray them as. There are good and bad in every country and I am grateful that here we practice religious tolerance(well most of us anyway)

Maybe that's why Marvin can't get to it.

I'm home now and I can see it, nasty stuff.

Nadia Mohamed Ali and her children Mohab, Maged, Sherif, Amira, Amir and Nancy were sentenced at the criminal court in Beni Suef, 70 miles south of Cairo.

This struck me as funny. Nancy - ummm, yeah, not too high up on the Muslim-y scale.

I'm sure our resident Muslims point out a lot of fiqh stuff [from the progressive side mainly] that any name can/is a Muslim name.

One thing to remember is a LOT of this type of stuff is "religious" because it is tolerated from the cultural angle and really may not hold up to any scrutiny from the theological side.

Think is that it is not a known hate site. Controversial maybe, but then so was the satanic verses. I know the Islamic community is not real big on opposing view points, or rather I should say many in the Islamic community.

What he posted violates nothing, except your view point.. Glad it stayed up.

Have to disagree with you, this morning I actually read some of the links, it's hate speech through and through. I'm glad the Mods took down those threads, if Hawkeyez or anyone else is so interested in Islam, ask a Iman or go to a local mosque. Or is it easier to find those type of websites and base your entire thought process on the subject off of it?

I'm not one way or the other on this, but I've been to several mosques (and pretty much any religious building/leaders I can get my hands on) and I have found that 99% of the time what you get from that kind of experience is a pleasant overview of any religion without much of counter balance. Any rational person would tell you that such an experience wouldn't give you a fair and balanced impression of a religion.

I think that most thinking people know that every religion is a blend of good and bad elements as well as every country. One could read sites like that and understand that they are representing one viewpoint and understand that a devout Muslim might give another.

But if you are going to post random violent crimes and percieved injustices done in Allah's name, how does that give you a better impression of the religion? I use percieved because in this article, Fox news made it a point to leave out this woman and the people that helped her broke the law. And I have no problem if you post something and want to have a debate about it, at the end of the day you take away from it whatever you want/need to. But if you going to specifically post the religion in a negative light all the time and no matter what facts someone brings to the table to dispel what you are saying, you keep doing it, then you mind is already made up. This isn't about counter-balance, it's about making Islam look like it's a horrible religion.

All religions have their horrible sides. I wouldn't consider the site referenced a "hate site" as it is a wiki and all sorts of people can add to it. Likely haters have added to that one.

But you don't get debate shutting down opposing views crying hate site!

I read through it this morning after my workout. Link after link, it was muslims killing Christians, some christian is a pedophile, Islam blocks women rights, the list goes on and on. Looks like it started out as a guide to Islam, but like you said the haters started just throwing random articles about murder and hatred all in there.

As I said before, I have seen these threads before, the same folks post them every time. And every time muslims come and peacefully debunk whatever vile article is posted, then said folks go and post more hateful links and articles, rinse, wash, repeat. This is just one example: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/402059-louisiana-police-ask-muslim-to-leave-subway-because-the-manager-is-scared-of-him/

What's bad is you can't see how nasty it got because the mods came in and started deleting some posts.
