Surely you can figure out how to prevent this issue. The US does not expedite for bad planning in this case.

Thanks everyone else, though, for your kind words and help getting down this path. It was kind of hard for me to admit what was really going on and ask for help, so I am really grateful for all the effort and information. I hope that we get an answer either way soon.

Me: Irish/ Swiss citizen, and now naturalised US citizen. Husband: USC; twin babies born Feb 08 in Ireland and a daughter in Feb 2010 in Arkansas who are all joint Irish/ USC. Did DCF (IR1) in 6 weeks via the Dublin, Ireland embassy and now living in Arkansas.
