Sorry, OP. If you look back on the timeline pages, immigration always takes a long time. That's not Obama's fault, nor the fault of anyone else. America is a popular country with a long line of individuals trying to move here legally. Don't forget, K-1 and IR1-CR1 applications aren't the only applications in circulation. As other people have said in this thread, use this time to plan the next steps, as you have a long way to go in this process.

Not quite right, the vast majority of the time is due to your file sitting in a big pile.

True, but it's not like they are only getting a few applications a day. They get thousands, and there isn't enough manpower for the volume of work. My overall point is if you're in this process, you'll be waiting for a while. It's unrealistic to expect anything otherwise.

The entire point of the original post is that the deferred action IS extra work on already understaffed immigration centers. I dont know of any new workers hired to help with the additional surplus of applications.

Him b***chng about those particular applicants having it easier I can understand as well. They can adjust their status temporarily since they have lived here as children... Well, what about the mother that has a child here and she cant claim any type of adjustment until her child is 21? Does she leave the baby in America and stay out of status for years or does she take it back to her original country? If the government wants to offer programs to people who came to America as children illegally, why cant situations like the one I mentioned be looked at as well? The poster is VENTING bottom line.. nothing to get so damn bent out of shape about!

But OP unfortunately please plan for a wait.. just look at my signature! LOL! In the meantime just keep yourself busy, plan for the future and get everything in order for the NOA2! :) Good luck.

By the same token, we don't know how many deferred action applications were received, where they are being processed, by whom and under which directives. In addition we do not know how many CR/IR/K/J/L/O/etc applications were received and put atop the pile, compounding the hypothetical delay.

We also do not know how many extra applications the USCIS had been able to expedite by extending hours and days of operation.

In essence, there is absolutely no grounds or tangible evidence from which to draw any conclusions. As the saying goes 'any port in a storm', so blaming it on someone else is the most expeditious thing to do.

First, the system will hiccup over the next few weeks, as the new political appointees are moved into position. Second, until the fiscal situation is resolved between Congress and the President, there will be no new hiring, and some folks may be taking unpaid furloughs. So, things will get worse. My advice: Take a chill pill and relax.

good.gif I agree with the exact numbers are unknown to us but in essence you can only assume the total number outweighs the exisiting case workers... as it does with every other petition... lol. But assuming something doesnt make it fact so I follow ya :)

Just got off the Phone with USCIS this evening I got some discouraging news when you call USCIS first tier what ever times they give you double them, I am not kidding, if they say 5 months expect 10 months or longer! Obama and his Amnesty act has screwed all of us doing this the legal way and guess who gets priority now not us who sit by and wait and wait and wait but the ones who got here illegally and they don't have to pay a dime not one red penny! I hope every one has lots of time and lots of patience because you are in for a long agonizing ride! Oh and just to let you know USPS lost my petition some guy named thornquist is having a good time with the money I sent. and you KNOW what USCIS said for me to do WAIT and when i said i should cancel the money order and start over she said i would not do that if i was you i asked why she would not tell me she just kept saying their favorite word Wait! Wait!

please :wow:

Well "nothing" in the Shakespeare really means "lady parts below your belt" so this is a bit different ;)

Anyway, this happens every year, here is a thread from 2010 blaming Haitians on the waits. The fact is, the waits are always long, and these cases generally do not affect the wait time. In 2011 I think the scapegoat was Sudanese.

I agree with some of the things being said here...it kind of feels like a slap in the face to those who have tried to come here to the United States legally. I was brought here to the US at a very young age as well but my mom, brother, & I had to wait for some time until we were reunited with our dad (who already immigrated her months before us). It was a difficult process then and still a difficult process now. I appreciate all the sacrifices hat my parents had to ensure that my brothers & I would live a decent life...It has been said that many came at a very young age and we can not really blame them for it but if anyone were to take responsiblity for being irresponsible, it would be the parents. Just curious if there was anything being done to the parents of these children....(if the parents are still around)...On same note, it is unfortunate that I am going to be waiting a few more months for a response on my case like many of you because of this Deferred Act.It is not right but what could be done other than writing to the people in Congress?

Well done!

I can't resist to add my nikkel to this debate...kicking.gifkicking.gif

I know it is so frustrating to have to wait so long, as everyone here does. I have been venting myself (quite a lot actually, but more privatly) about those 65% of files which were gonna end in a divorce anyway and that were still ahead of us in the pile (because of course, we cannot be in the 65% who will divorce, right?no0pb.gif) This is so stupid. But sometimes I needed just to vent, to be stupid, and to complain. This was kind of a joke/vent.

What I try to say is that our case always seems to us more important than other cases, we think it is unfair, that we have more right than others... and for whatever reason. Because we love each other so much, because we have known each other for a long time, because we have a fancy diploma, because because because.... whatever, we will always find something. The truth is, other people in this immigration process will think the same of themselves.

And when I think about it, I actually don't think I am more rightful than others. Specially not than people who have live in a country forever, since they were children, and were denied the right to be legal there. They are stateless basically. How awefull can it be to grow up as an illegal and to be left as an adult with this choice: moving to a country you don't know anything about, where you don't have friends, familly, habits (or a fiancé by the way!) or stay in a country where you have no rights... I don't envy them a bit.

The only shame is that there are not more people working at the USCIS (and that they are wasting money on the hotline that is useless...anyway). But money doesn't grow on trees and choices have to be made on where to spend it. I am pretty sure the majority of americans wouldn't agree on spending much more on immigration staff so the process is less painful for immigrants. Cause the process is actually painful for non-us citizen. The only reason a US citizen would really care is that he/her knows personnally someone who is trying to immigrate, like a fiancé or a spouse for exemple. Or a chilhood friend who's always been illegal but is now 32 and always lived in the US?... But it is not the vast majority right?

let's all take a deep breath. Life is unfair, and far from being perfect. But we are in heart.giflove heart.gifmy friends... isn't it a beautiful thing?

Good luck in your visa journey!
