Happy 2013, Everybody!

So here's my question: I haven't made enough in the last two years to qualify to sponsor my husband on my own. However, I had some income based on a rental property, which I've recently accepted a sales contract on. The money I get at closing will not be enough to satisfy an assets-based sponsorship, either. I've also recently started a job, which WILL put me in the acceptable range. I'll be able to provide pay stubs starting on Friday. Since I'm now able to provide proof of income above and beyond the acceptable limits, will I need a sponsor because of my previous tax receipts showing totals under the requirements? Thanks for any assistance!

It's up to the discretion of the approving officer if they want to allow you through based on current income ONLY.

You should still provide copies of your recent tax years.

I would have a co-sponsor just for backup.

Sponsorship is based on present income. If you can provide an employment verification letter (with pay stubs) along with your tax transcripts and can prove that your income is now more than enough, you should be fine. Ultimately, it is always up to the immigration officer, though.
