How soon can I get my medical?

Hey there,

Okay so I'm still waiting for my NOA2 but trying to get organised for the next step.

After they transfer my case to the NVC do I have to wait for the case to be processed there before I can schedule a medical? Also, how long before interview can I get my medical? I ask because I filed October 2012 so am hoping to get NOA2 within the next month or so. However, I am going to visit hubby in May in the US and so was assuming my interview will fall late May/sometime in June so I'd have to fly back for that. Therefore, if I could, I'd like to get my medical out of the way before I go out there so that I'm only flying back for the interview and waiting for that part (as that will mean less time waiting if I only have to go back for interview and not for interview AND medical?) If that makes sense?

Any help appreciated!

03/04/13 .. DS-3032 Accepted

03/04/13 .. AOS bill paid

03/08/13 .. AOS bill shown PAID

03/05/13 .. IV bill paid

03/06/13 .. IV bill shown PAID

medical cannot be done until after the NOA2. I know for my husband it couldn;t be done until he had an actual appointment for his visa interview, as he needed the interview letter for the medical.

Thanks for the info. Do you know roughly how long it is between NOA2 and interview date? (My embassy is London)

The doctors here won't book the appointment until you have the interview date and they also need your case number which you don't have yet.

get yer medical done after you know the Embassy Casefile Number, given at NVC.

Many folk do get it done after they receive the actual interview appointment letter, though.

Awesome, so as an October filer, say I got my NOA2 in March and my Embassy Casefile Number late March/April - Could I then schedule my medical for late April/early May?
