Hello, my husband has to travel and he didnt receive his green card yet in the mail, is it okay to travel with your green card stamp in your passport? Thanks so much

The document and stamp are good for up to a year to use as the temporary green card from what I've read. So I think so, yes.

There are a few people here on VJ who have an expiring GC and an extension letter from the USCIS and they WANT to get the I-551 stamp in their passport because they feel it is better than the expired GC and an extension letter to travel on. The stamp is the same as the physical card and since it is in the passport you do not need to worry about having one and forgetting the other. Your husband is good to go. Safe travels.
